Doo-wop is a genre considered one branch of R&B.
It was developed primarily by African Americans and flourished most in the 1950s, with The Platters being one of the most famous groups.

Their soulful, decidedly un-Japanese vocals and the groove they created must have been shocking to Japan’s music industry at a time when doo-wop had yet to spread widely.

Their performances have been recognized overseas, and they made their major debut in South Korea in 2008.

COLOR CREATION, known by the nickname Karakuri, was a five-member male a cappella group active from 2017 to 2020.
The group included singers RIOSKE and KAZ, who are well-known from PELP!NS.
The path by which COLOR CREATION secured their major-label debut was quite unique: if two CDs they released sold over 5,000 copies, they would earn a major debut.
That same year, they successfully sold more than 5,000 copies and made their major-label debut.
Although they went on hiatus in 2020, they remain one of the groups that energized the a cappella scene.

SOLIDEMO is like a dream a cappella group, with every member tall and handsome.
Under the slogan “Japan-made artists shining across Asia,” they began their activities in 2013.
They earned a reputation for performance skills and visuals on par with overseas idols.
Their perfectly blended vocals, in particular, captured the hearts of many listeners, but the group sadly disbanded in 2022.

Seeking to improve further, they began frequenting Tomoshibi, one of the oldest and most established utagoe kissa.
They released four albums supervised by Tomoshibi, which helped solidify their a cappella career.
