How about decorating coloring pages or paintings with a frame that adds a splash of flair? It looks colorful and beautiful, yet you can make it with everyday items like cardboard and a clear file folder.

First, draw a line on the cardboard to match the size of an A4 clear file.

Then draw another line 2 cm outside that line and another 2 cm inside it, and cut along them with a craft knife to create a frame.

Tape the clear file to the back of the frame with cellophane tape, and on the front, stick on flower petals made in colorful shades like yellow, green, purple, red, and blue—and you’re done.

Let everyone pick their favorite colors and enjoy the sticking part, too!

Collage – Introducing stylish collages using leftover washi paper –

This is a stylish collage using Japanese calligraphy paper (hanshi).

You’ll need drawing paper, hanshi, scissors, glue, and paints or colored pencils.

First, paint the hanshi with various colors.

Be careful not to use too much water, as the hanshi can tear.

After it’s thoroughly dry, trim off the margins and cut out leaf shapes.

Then glue the leaves onto tree branches you’ve drawn on the drawing paper.

The marbled coloring creates a unique, beautiful texture that really catches the eye—perfect for brightening up Respect for the Aged Day as a striking wall decoration!
