Recommended videos of soothing ASMR sounds

On video sites and the like, ASMR has become a well-established and popular type of content.

ASMR refers to recordings of sounds or videos that stimulate a person’s sight or hearing to create a pleasant, relaxing feeling or a tingling sensation.

It’s especially popular among younger generations, with many people listening before bed and dozing off—one of modern life’s go-to relaxation tools.

Here, we’re showcasing a wide range of ASMR content, from crisp, satisfying sounds to whispers that feel like they’re right by your ear.

Even if you’ve never listened before, you might just get hooked!

The sound of a ball rolling

Marble Run Race ASMR: Wooden Stairs & Rolling Balls
The sound of a ball rolling

A marble run where a small ball travels and drops through a framed track, almost like a Rube Goldberg machine.

Originally a learning toy for children in which you assemble the path the ball will follow.

The sound of the ball rolling and falling at the goal of the marble run has become popular as ASMR.

The sound changes quite a bit depending on whether it’s made of plastic or wood.

When you listen closely with earphones, the rolling sound is playful yet soothing.

I’m sure many people end up falling asleep while listening.

chewing sounds

chewing sounds

When you think of classic ASMR, isn’t it the sounds of eating—chewing sounds? Some people might think listening to someone eat is odd, but depending on the food, the sounds can be so pleasing that they’re fascinating.

The crunchy, crackling sound of thickly battered fried chicken, the crisp snap when a sausage bursts, the satisfying crunch of a rice cracker—all of these are really nice to listen to.

And visually, too, it’s satisfying to watch someone dig in and eat heartily!

cuisine

[Cooking Sounds ASMR] Hearty Pork Miso Soup
cuisine

I think we all hear cooking sounds pretty often, and there are so many of them.

A classic one is the sound of a knife cutting something.

The sound changes a lot depending on what you’re cutting, and of course the crisp slice is satisfying, but the sound of the knife hitting the cutting board is nice too.

The rhythmic ton-ton when chopping green onions or the sound of shredding cabbage is also really pleasant.

Just listening to water coming to a boil, fire crackling, or something sizzling on a hot griddle is enough to make you hungry (lol).

the sound of writing letters with a pencil

[Sound Fetish] The Sound of Writing with a Pencil – Pencil Writing Sounds [ASMR]
the sound of writing letters with a pencil

Everyone must have experienced writing something on paper with a pencil.

That indescribably pleasant, soft scratching sound of the graphite rubbing against the paper feels so nice.

Whether you’re the one writing or someone else is, it’s not a loud sound, but when you listen closely through earphones in an ASMR recording, the tingling sensation becomes quite strong.

It’s not just tingles, though—you also get a lingering, soothing comfort in your ears.

The sound of sharpening a pencil is also very satisfying to listen to.

Shampoo

[ASMR] 99% Sleep-Inducing. 3D Audio Shampoo & Rinse / Good Sleep ASMR Shampoo
Shampoo

Some people might wonder, “Does it make a sound when you shampoo every day? A soothing sound?” But if you listen to the sound of hair being thoroughly washed with a good lather, like at a salon, you’ll probably think, “Ah, that’s such a pleasant sound!” The hair wrapped in plenty of foam makes a thick, soft, gently sloshing sound that can be surprisingly addictive.

And the crisp, efficient movements of the stylist’s hands—the sounds they make while washing your hair at a salon—can feel just as comforting.

The sound of stepping on fallen leaves

The sound of stepping on fallen leaves

Don’t you ever feel like you want to step on a spot covered with fallen leaves? That dry crunch sounds so pleasant to the ear—or sometimes gives you tingles.

I recommend listening closely to that sound with earphones, too.

Even when we just say “fallen leaves,” there are all kinds of sounds: the light crunch when you press down gently, or the crackling crunch as dried leaves break while you walk across a thick layer.

And even if you want to step on them yourself, the season is limited, right? (lol) It feels great to step on them in person, but when you listen through earphones, the sound can unexpectedly give you the shivers.

ear pick

[Male Voice] I Tried Running a Chill Ear-Cleaning Shop. [Ear-Cleaning Voice] [ASMR]
ear pick

Ear cleaning is a classic in ASMR.

It’s a popular type because it makes you feel like someone is actually cleaning your ears, and the rustling sounds that mimic being touched inside the ear are so satisfying.

There are tons of videos—female or male performers, anime-style voices, whispers, deep soothing voices, relaxed and calm styles—so it’s fun to look for an ear-cleaning ASMR that suits your taste.

Some whispering styles can feel a bit embarrassing to listen to, but that tingly, shivery feeling can be surprisingly addictive (lol).
