ZELDA

Yoko Suzuki, who was an early member of the all-female rock band ZELDA formed in 1979, helped forge the group’s distinctive sound by blending punk, new wave, funk, and other genres.

In 1982, they made their major-label debut on Nippon Phonogram with the album “ZELDA” and the single “Mirage Lover.” Her innovative guitar playing underpinned the band’s experimental sound.

ZELDA’s uniqueness as an all-women band and their musicality were highly acclaimed, influencing many who followed.

CHAI

In 2018, they released music through prestigious indie labels in the U.S.

and U.K., signed with Sub Pop, and further solidified their international reputation.

They have also earned numerous accolades, including recognition at the 10th CD Shop Awards in 2018 and taking the top spot on Buzz Rhythm 02’s “This Is Going to Buzz 2018.” With “NEO Kawaii” as their guiding concept, their music is packed with fresh, message-driven works beneath a pop surface—highly recommended for fans of Western music as well.

Moesa Tsuno, who was active as the guitarist of the rock band Akai Koen, a group known for delivering genre-defying music to listeners.

In addition to writing and composing songs for the band, she engaged in a wide range of musical activities, including providing songs to various artists.

From their debut, she used a Fender Stratocaster, and her guitar playing—showcasing everything from warm tones to edgy sounds through diverse approaches—left a strong impression.

She even gave her guitar the nickname “Benzō,” embodying the deep love for music that defines her as an artist.

Formed in 2020, the three-piece girls’ band Conton Candy is gaining attention for a sound that fuses pop and rock in exquisite balance.

In April 2023, their solo show at Shibuya eggman was a great success, fully showcasing the band’s appeal.
