Love at first sight with a bass girl! Female bassists (41–50) from popular bands
selfishnon (arusteiku)

Arstake is a three-piece band that released their first album, “A,” in March 2022.
Non is a highly recommended female bassist whose subtle, song-serving phrases are irresistible.
Her moderately active bass lines feel so good.
In particular, the oblique passages in the higher register of the bass that you can hear toward the end of “Wagamama” are a highlight.
Bass tends to draw attention for its low end, but she reminds you of the charm of the bass’s gentle highs.
BlazeAya (WHITE ASH)

WHITE ASH was a four-piece band, and Aya delivered a bass sound full of stability and groove.
Although WHITE ASH disbanded in March 2017, vocalist-guitarist Nobita and bassist Aya went on to form a new band, THE LITTLE BLACK.
Many fans were excited to hear that sound again, but the unit also disbanded in January 2024.
Even after the band breakups, Aya has declared she will continue playing bass and is currently serving as a support bassist for FINLANDS.
Bug lifeNaNa Enokido (Reptile)

The loud rock band Reptile.
Their music lets you fully experience the genre’s heaviness and speed.
Among that, many listeners have likely found their eyes drawn to her effortlessly handling a five-string bass.
NaNa Enokido, who also shines as a contest model, captivates with a bold, gutsy playing style.
You can really feel how solidly she supports the entire band from the bottom up.
papapauemaya (ex. zekkei kujira)

Uemaya, who played bass in Zekkei Kujira, a band known for its cynical lyrics and punchy, cool beats.
In 2017, Uemaya left Zekkei Kujira, and that same year she joined Friday Friday, a Kyoto-based easy-pop team.
She’s also active as a designer.
Maybe it’s a sign of the times, but there are many people who deftly express themselves across multiple genres while making music—and it often feels completely natural, doesn’t it?
A Single PetalNOHANA (Sutereoponī)

They made their major debut in 2008 and disbanded in 2012.
Their debut single was used as the ending theme for the anime BLEACH.
They have many tie-in songs with anime and appeared at AnimeNEXT, the largest anime convention in the United States.
Currently, centered around bassist NOHANA and drummer SHIHO, they have formed Draft King and are active.
