Since discovering music during my school days, I’ve mainly listened to Japanese and Korean pop. I have experience writing articles for sites like Utaten. 2000s J-pop and 2010s K-pop were especially the soundtrack of my youth. With the mindset that “good is good,” I enjoy music across genres. Thanks to past work environments and their influence, I was exposed to lots of classic rock and kayōkyoku (Japanese popular songs), which may have broadened the scope of what I love. Released by PUFFY in 1997, this track features lyrics themed around race queens, as suggested by its title, “Circuit no Musume.” It’s also a motorcycle-related song that was used in a commercial for Yamaha’s Vino scooter.

Written and composed by Tamio Okuda, the song has a relaxed, cheerful vibe typical of PUFFY’s music from that era.

It’s perfect as background music for a laid-back, feel-good touring ride.

Based on a refined sound, Yohei Kawakami’s refreshing vocals make a strong impression! With a moderate tempo, the song has a crisp finish that evokes the early morning.

Here’s why I recommend it: bike enthusiasts who’ve watched the MV may have already noticed—Masaki Okada, the actor appearing in the video, is riding a cafe-racer-style SR400! What’s more, the SR is known for its kick start, and that detail is depicted clearly, making this a must-see for SR riders!
