Love letter.BURNOUT SYNDROMES

This slightly short, mid-tempo number that unfolds gently is one of their very oldest songs, despite the members being in their early twenties yet boasting nearly a decade-long career.

Apparently, it was their second or third original song after forming the band.

This song opens with a high-tempo yet subdued sound, and despite a seemingly complex structure that even weaves in odd time signatures, its clear, uplifting chorus shines thanks to its skillful arrangement.

After a brief moment of restraint, the chorus hits in a way that will make you want to throw your hands up when you hear it live.

Setting SunBURNOUT SYNDROMES

It’s a mid-tempo number, but unlike most of their songs, the sound takes the spotlight more than the vocals.

The technically adept clean guitar with delay and the tempo change near the end are striking.

Incidentally, drummer Hirose has cited Osamu Dazai’s The Setting Sun as a favorite work of literature, though its connection to this piece is unclear.

BLIZZARD, performed by BURNOUT SYNDROMES, who describe themselves as a youth literature rock band.

The song was selected as the opening theme for the anime Mashiro no Oto, which centers on a coming-of-age story involving the Tsugaru shamisen.

The lyrics, written in beautiful Japanese that weaves in snowy scenery throughout, are literary and deeply evocative.

The melody, which conveys a sense of “wa” (Japanese aesthetic), and the resonance of traditional instruments—both aligned with the anime’s story—are key elements of this work.

It’s a rock number that lets you savor the essence of winter in Japan.

This is the fifth digital-only single by BURNOUT SYNDROMES, a three-piece rock band whose worldview has gained popularity as heirs to the “literary rock” genre in the J-pop scene.

The track was selected as the opening theme for the TV anime Dr.

STONE: Ryusui, and its classical arrangement featuring string sounds is particularly striking.

The melody conveys both a sense of speed and depth, evoking the beginning of a mysterious fantasy tale.

It’s an exhilarating rock tune that retains the tightness of a rock sound while overflowing with an epic sense of scale.
