Let me introduce a magic trick you can do with house-shaped origami.

It’s called the Animal Move, where the positions of three animals attached to a mechanism mysteriously switch places.

First, ask the children which animal they want to be in the middle, then fold the one they chose first.

Next, flip it over and open the lid—amazingly, that animal has moved to the center.

If you don’t flip it over, the animals stay where they are, so sometimes it’s fun to say, “Looks like the move isn’t finished yet,” and open it without flipping as part of the performance.

We’d like to introduce a magic theater where, whenever the little ghost eats some food, its body color mysteriously changes.

Before starting the magic theater, do some fingerplay or a simple hand game to create a relaxed atmosphere with the children.

After that, it’s a great time to begin the magic theater.

Playing a bright, slower-tempo song during the performance can help liven things up.

We recommend creating a simple magic theater with a cheerful, seasonal feel so the children can look forward to their days at the preschool.

You’ll need playing cards numbered eight through thirteen and an illustration of a Ferris wheel with animals.

Have the children draw a card, then choose animals on the Ferris wheel according to the number.

Next, flip the board over to reveal a drawing of a parachute—and the chosen animal plushie appears from the bottom.

The secret is that the counting method is arranged so that no matter which number is chosen, the same animal is selected.

It’s a magic trick where you sharply strike the crease of a folded bill with a spoon, the spoon appears to pierce through the bill, but when you remove the spoon and unfold the bill, it’s back to normal.

You prepare two spoons, hold them slightly offset so the back spoon sticks out, and place the folded bill between them.

By pressing the front spoon against the inside of the crease, the back spoon sticks out farther and becomes visible first, making it look as though it pierced the bill.

To avoid revealing that you’re holding two spoons, it’s best to use plain, flat spoons with minimal decoration.

It’s the perfect magic trick for Christmas! The secret is that a large, folded sock is attached to the back of the small sock you show at the start, and the big star is already inside it.

When performing, you need to unfold the large sock in an instant.

Make sure to open it so that the small sock stuck on it faces you.

Keep the large sock folded tightly so it stays hidden.
