I’ll show you how to make a Santa Claus using materials from a 100-yen shop and a toilet paper roll.

The materials are felt, a toilet paper roll, double-sided tape, wood glue, yarn, and beads.

First, cut the toilet paper roll to 9.5 cm.

Next, cut felt to 4 × 14.5 cm to make Santa’s face.

Apply double-sided tape to the felt and attach it to the toilet paper roll.

Use red felt to make Santa’s outfit.

Cut the felt to fit the lower part of the toilet paper roll and attach it with double-sided tape as well.

Use wood glue to attach the eyes and nose.

Make a cone out of red felt, attach white felt around the bottom to make the hat, put some stuffing inside, and glue it onto the roll.

Finally, add yarn for the hair, and you’re done!

Christmas features many striking motifs, like Santa Claus and Christmas trees.

This project is about making magnets in those shapes.

You’ll form the shapes with paper clay, and using cookie cutters can make it easier.

Once the clay dries, paint it and add decorations such as beads.

Incorporating small pieces of fabric could be fun, too.

Finally, glue on the magnets to finish.

A key point is the variety of ways you can arrange things—choosing which shapes to make and how to decorate them.

How to make it: First, cut the construction paper and fabric to fit the frame and glue them on with wood glue.

Next, use cinnamon sticks or similar items to create and attach the tree trunk.

Then apply wood glue in the shape of a tree above the trunk and stick on finely crumbled green moss.

Mini tree with a glue gun

Let’s try making a small, cute Christmas tree using a hot glue gun! First, roll a piece of construction paper into a cone so it looks like a Christmas tree.

Then cover it with parchment paper to create the base.

On that base, use the hot glue gun to draw any patterns you like! Waves, checkered designs—just make sure the patterns are shaped so the tree can stand on its own once the base is removed.

After the hot glue hardens, remove the construction paper and parchment, and paint it with your favorite color of nail polish.

Adding beads or other decorations is also recommended! It already looks lovely, but if you place a light inside the tree so it glows, it will be even more dazzling!
