Also works as ornaments! How to make an advent calendar

Also works as ornaments! How to make an advent calendar

Let me share an idea for an Advent calendar made with coffee filters that can also double as Christmas ornaments.

First, write the date in the center of a coffee filter and punch a hole at the top.

Put candies or small toys inside, then fold the left and right edges inward and staple them closed.

Make as many as you need in the same way, then thread a string through the holes to hang them up.

Since coffee filters are simple, I recommend adding Christmas stickers or decorating them like ornaments.

Origami Boots Advent Calendar

Origami Boots Advent Calendar

A Christmas stocking advent calendar is a festive idea that also works as a wall decoration.

Make the stockings with origami and tuck individually wrapped candies into the pocket-like part.

Write the dates with a pen, add holly made from another small piece of origami, and it’s done! The stockings only take a few folds, so even kids can give it a try.

The holly here is made with small origami paper and red round stickers, but you can also draw it or use other stickers.

Making the stockings in several colors will make the display even more vibrant.

House-shaped Advent calendar

How to Make a House-Shaped Christmas Ornament – It Can Also Be an Advent Calendar! How to Make a Simple Christmas Ornament
House-shaped Advent calendar

How about making house-shaped Christmas ornaments out of kraft paper? They’re simple and stylish, and if you put candy inside, they become an advent calendar.

First, prepare a house-shaped template and cut the kraft paper.

Next, use a white pen to draw roof patterns, windows, and a door.

Fold it up, apply glue to the tabs, and assemble.

Then punch a hole in the roof and thread a string in your favorite color through it.

Put in your child’s favorite treats, attach another string, and hang it on the Christmas tree.

The window and roof patterns will look cute in a variety of colors, too!

Why not make a warm, cozy tree garland using yarn? Create three tassels the same way you’d make pom-poms, then glue them vertically to form a tree shape.

First, wrap yarn around a piece of cardboard until it has some thickness, then slide it off.

Thread a piece of yarn through the loop to tie it so it doesn’t come apart, tie again about 2 cm below the first knot, then cut the bottom loop to form a tassel.

Make three of these and connect them, then decorate with ribbons or embellishments.

Make several identical trees, string them onto a cord, and you’re done!

Christmas bell

Easy to make with 100-yen shop items ✨🔔 This is Micoco, a nursery teacher × Montessori mama 🌼 👉@micoco_asobi \ Christmas 🎄 Hand Bell 🔔 / From around 8 months old 👶🏻 Did you know you can make a hand bell by hand? 😳 It’s so easy to make—it surprised me too!! One fun point is the jingling sound of the bells, but it also seems surprisingly fun 🤣 to squish the plastic cup. Sometimes she enjoyed ringing it jingle-jingle, and sometimes my daughter, Cocomaru, held it squished and shook it to have fun 🤭🎵 Since it’s a small plastic cup, it’s perfect for babies to hold. They can think about how to grasp it, realize it makes a sound when shaken, and it gives plenty of stimulation to their fingertips, hearing, and sight—great for activating the brain 💡 Definitely give it a try! If you make smart use of non-crafting 100-yen shop items, you can create wonderful pieces.

Christmas bells made from clear cups even have a delicate, glass-like feel.

Since the cups are transparent, adding creative elements inside the bell can expand your design possibilities.

For babies or small children, it might be nice to place decorations inside the bell made from stickers of their favorite characters.

Adding a jingle bell will make it produce a real sound when shaken.

If you make this for a child, the fact that it makes noise will likely be a point of interest for them.

Christmas ornament

There are so many types of Christmas ornaments, aren’t there? You can probably find a wide variety even at 100-yen shops.

If you customize store-bought ornaments, you can create even more beautiful pieces.

Ornaments stuck into bamboo skewers and arranged in a jar look high-end but are easy to make.

To do it, just remove the part with the ornament string and insert a bamboo skewer.

Then place the skewers in a jar filled with cotton so they stay stable, and display them.

It’s easy for kids to make too, so why not try creating them as a family?

Cotton snow globe ornament

https://www.tiktok.com/@n.annlee321/video/7165816714175794434

The beautiful sight of glittering, drifting snow in a snow globe makes it a popular piece featuring many winter motifs.

It often attracts attention as Christmas decor when winter arrives.

Real snow globes come in spherical glass containers and seem difficult to make.

However, you can easily create a snow globe ornament using items from a 100-yen shop.

Place cotton inside a clear ornament ball to make it look like snow has piled up.

You can leave the cotton as is, or shave pastel crayons and blend the color in to tint it.

Add star-shaped pieces to create the effect of sparkling snow.

Finish by placing a snowman made from two connected pom-poms inside.

For the base of the snow globe, a paper cup is just the right size and is recommended.
