Ribbon wreath

This is a tutorial on making a ribbon wreath by combining your favorite ribbons.

Because ribbons have a glamorous look on their own, anyone can easily create a wreath that looks luxurious! Prepare a base ribbon, a narrow ribbon, and a wide ribbon.

You can choose any colors and materials you like.

Since it’s for Christmas, festive materials like satin, metallic, velvet, and organza are recommended.

Just cut each ribbon and tie it onto the wire base.

There’s lots of repetitive work, so it’s easy to focus as you go.

Even if it looks a little uneven, it still turns out lovely, so it’s a great project to try even if you’re not confident with crafts!

origami wreath

We’re going to make a simple wreath using origami.

The materials are easy to find, and since the finished piece is flat, it doesn’t take up much space—that’s another nice point.

You fold paper into predetermined shapes to create parts, then assemble them into a ring by inserting each piece into the gaps of the others.

A spiky look reminiscent of holly leaves—an iconic Christmas motif—is a staple, but there are many different ways to fold the parts, and the final appearance changes accordingly, so why not look up some variations and give them a try? Because you combine multiple sheets of origami, color selection is also important.

For a Christmas wreath, alternating red and green is the classic choice, but it could be fun to use your favorite colors to add a personal touch.

A fluffy-looking yarn wreath with a cute appearance has a wonderfully seasonal finish that’s perfect for Christmas.

All the materials—like plush, stuffed-animal-like yarn and natural items such as nuts—can be found at 100-yen shops.

It’s super easy: just wrap yarn around a styrofoam wreath base! For materials like ribbons and nuts, simply wrap them with wire and insert them into the wreath base.

Since the base is white, adding silver or gold accents also looks lovely.

How about using it to decorate your front door or living room?

Christmas wreath made from toilet paper rolls

People will be amazed and ask, “Did you make that with toilet paper rolls?” Let’s create a charming Christmas wreath using toilet paper rolls.

First, paint six rolls with green paint.

Once the paint is dry, flatten each roll and cut it into six equal pieces, then place and glue the pieces onto green origami paper to create a base.

After it dries, cut around the base and start arranging and gluing the pieces into a wreath shape.

It helps to place a round object in the center as a guide while arranging.

Finish by decorating with nuts or small craft balls.

If you have lots of toilet paper rolls, you can make a larger wreath too.

Give it a try with everyone!
