Rainbow Paper Sheet: Light Lantern Tree

A must-see for anyone who wants to create a romantic, dreamlike atmosphere! Here’s how to make a glowing lantern tree.
First, cut rainbow scratch paper to make three isosceles triangles of the same size.
Scratch and draw pictures of Santa and reindeer.
Next, make a frame from black cardstock to match the size of the triangles.
Cut out the bottom of the frame to fit the light, insert the light, and secure it with rubber bands and tape so it won’t come off.
Use double-sided tape to attach the base and frame, and then stick the illustrated triangles onto the frame.
Finally, turn on the light and it’s complete.
You can make it with items sold at 100-yen shops, so give it a try!
tissue paper tree

How about making a fluffy, cute tissue-paper tree? It’s super easy! First, cut tissue paper in your favorite color into a long, narrow rectangle, then fold it in half lengthwise to make it even longer.
Along the folded edge, make small vertical snips from end to end.
Next, open the fold, fold it back the other way, and glue the edges that don’t have cuts together.
Make a cone base out of construction paper, then wrap and glue the snipped tissue paper around it.
Keep adding layers of tissue paper in tiers, and finish by decorating with beads or other embellishments.
It’s perfect for practicing scissor skills, too.
Give it a try and create a colorful, vibrant tree full of personality!
A Christmas tree made with torn-paper collage

I’ll show you how to make a very simple torn-paper Christmas tree! You’ll need construction paper, writing tools, glue, origami paper, and round or star stickers.
First, lightly draw a tree on the construction paper and tear the origami paper into small pieces.
Apply glue within the tree outline so it doesn’t go outside, and stick the torn origami pieces onto the tree.
Next, tear some brown origami paper.
Put glue on the trunk area and attach the brown pieces.
Finally, decorate the tree with your favorite stickers, and you’re done! You don’t even need scissors, so small children can enjoy this activity too.
Biri-Biri Tree

A Christmas tree decorated with randomly torn origami paper is a craft that even very young children can enjoy.
Wrap origami paper around a toilet paper roll to make the base, then simply glue on the torn pieces of paper to create a unique Christmas tree.
You’ll use scissors and glue when making the base, but the tasks aren’t intricate, so it could be fun to let children do the crafting while an adult provides support.
It’s a simple project that changes in how it can be enjoyed depending on age, yet still results in a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree.
Fluffy Tree

This craft creates a fluffy, lifelike tree texture by making slits in origami paper.
Simply attach slit origami pieces onto a cone made from green construction paper, and you’ll have an airy, three-dimensional Christmas tree.
If you decorate it with ornaments made from origami and other materials, it can become a bright and festive wall decoration.
Also, when making these in kindergartens or preschools, lining up the finished trees to form one large Christmas tree will liven up the room and delight the children who made them.

Perler bead tree

Here’s how to make a Christmas tree with Perler beads (Hama beads), a craft kids love! You’ll need a small star-shaped pegboard, a square pegboard, green and yellow beads, and any colors you like for decorating the tree.
First, on the star-shaped board, place green beads in a position where you can form an equilateral triangle to create the tree.
Add yellow beads in a circle in the empty space at the top for the star.
Then, remove some of the green beads you placed and replace them with beads for the ornaments.
Make the trunk by forming a small downward-pointing triangle.
On the square board, place brown or green beads to make the base.
Iron the pieces, then insert the tree into the base to finish.
Try different decorations and have fun making it!
Original straw tree

How about handcrafting some cute, puffy mini tree ornaments and enjoying decorating your tree? First, wrap your favorite patterned origami paper around a thick straw and glue it down.
Pull out the straw, and you’ve got an origami paper straw! Make several more using the same method, each one about 1 cm shorter than the last.
Finally, glue the origami paper straws in order onto a long, narrow base strip, and you’re done.
Add stickers or beads to make it even more festive.
This time we used origami paper, but you can also make them using just thick straws—give it a try!
