Masterpieces and popular songs by cinema staff

cinema staff is a four-piece rock band from Gifu Prefecture.

They have the vibe of a straightforward guitar rock band, but their performances can be so intense at times that they almost overwhelm the vocals.

Even so, their masterful shifts in dynamics keep listeners engaged, giving them an unfathomable appeal.

This is a song included on the 2015 album “blueprint.” It was used as the ending theme for the overseas drama “ARROW Season 1,” which aired on Nippon TV, and it’s one of the most noted tracks on the album.

Like “Behind,” this is the lead track from the Vektor E.P., released on November 30, 2016.

Unlike “Behind,” it has a certain sharp edge to it.

With its catchy melody line, once you hear it, you won’t be able to forget it and will find yourself humming along.

Included on their major first full-length album, “Bokyo” (Nostalgia).

A quintessential cinema staff track that suits the sunset—sharp yet permeated throughout with a sense of melancholy.

It depicts a young child slowly accumulating time and becoming an adult, expressing changes in family and home through the image of a dinner table where everyone gathers.

The music video conveys this theme using a family of fish, resulting in a mysterious and slightly heartrending portrayal.

Graet Escapecinema staff

The ending theme for episodes 14–25 in the latter half of the anime Attack on Titan, and cinema staff’s first tie-in song.

The striking start features a four-count on the drums leading into driving guitar.

The lyrics, filled with a resolve to blow off pent-up frustration and carve out one’s life, really hit home.

I think it’s a track packed with the coolness of contemporary rock.

This is one of the lead tracks from the EP “WAYPOINT E.P.” released on October 28, 2015.

It’s a ballad that makes you feel positive when you listen to it.

The song has a gentle atmosphere, filled with pleasing arrangements.

I hope you’ll pay attention to the lyrics as well.

Name of Lovecinema staff

When it comes to rock bands from Gifu Prefecture, cinema staff is a name that always comes up.

Guitar-vocalist Mizuki Iida, guitarist Tomotaka Tsuji, and bassist Sohei Mishima are all from Gifu and reportedly high school classmates.

Back in 2004, the predecessor band centered around these three performed at the TEENS’ MUSIC FESTIVAL, drawing attention even then.

Their appeal lies in their quintessential guitar-rock catchiness and Iida’s evocative, wistful vocals.

Combined with their dramatic song structures, the more you listen, the more you’ll find yourself drawn into their world.
