The CastawayLOVEBITES

LOVEBITES is a band leading Japan’s heavy metal scene and highly acclaimed overseas.
Released in December 2025 ahead of their February 2026 album Outstanding Power, The Castaway is a track that conveys an unyielding will that won’t bow to rough seas or storms.
Its driving beats, dazzling twin guitars, and soaring vocals weave a sound that stirs the listener’s spirit.
It’s a song you’ll want to hear when you need the courage to face adversity.
Driver’s HighL’Arc〜en〜Ciel

Released on August 11, 1999, L’Arc~en~Ciel’s “Driver’s High” is surely one of their signature songs.
If you want to hear a sweet yet cool guitar solo, this is the track to pick.
The searing bends in the guitar solo during the interlude are irresistible.
True to its title, the song has a thrilling sense of speed and is perfect as background music for a drive.
Not only the guitar solo, but the intro riff also features a beautiful melodic line that feels great to listen to.

Re:Re:ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION

This is the 22nd single by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, the four-piece rock band affectionately known as Ajikan, which was used as the opening theme for the TV anime Erased.
Following the catchy chorus, the guitar solo shifts in character along with changes in the drum beats, continuing with phrases that harness the song’s momentum.
Without relying on difficult licks, the solo functions as a part of the composition, using a wah pedal to create dynamics and expression.
SophieAve Mujica

Ave Mujica is a girls’ band that stands out with a gothic aesthetic.
This track from their third single, “’S/’ The Way / Sophie,” released in December 2025, captivates with a lyrical world so deep that new interpretations emerge with every listen.
Layering motifs like celestial motions and fate, it evokes a ritualistic grandeur and an almost suffocating sense of ecstasy.
While rooted in heavy metal, the sound carries symphonic shadings that leave a strong impression.
Immerse yourself in this mysterious musical experience!
Mahorobaningen ishi

Since their debut in 1989, Ningen Isu—a three-piece band that fuses literature with hard rock—has built a uniquely macabre world.
Opening their 24th album, “Mahoroba,” released in November 2025, this track is a commanding epic that stretches to nearly eight minutes.
The sound, where the band’s signature weighty riffs intertwine with Japanese melodic sensibilities, is overwhelming.
The lyrics, which stand beside a suffering “you” and speak of striving together toward a utopia, kindle a light of hope in the hearts of those living in today’s anxious society.
It’s a soul-shaking heavy rock piece that portrays the harshness of reality and the salvation that lies beyond it.
Metaphor feat. FeryquitousIchika Nito

An ethereal track woven with fluid guitar playing.
It’s the title song of the EP “Metaphor,” released in December 2024, featuring Feryquitous on vocals.
The soundscape—rich in artcore elements—strikingly fuses hyperpop with music game culture.
It’s an ambitious work that conveys Ichika Nito’s musical roots as well as his growth and spirit of exploration.
A piece by a guitarist gaining worldwide attention—don’t miss it.
rainbowELLEGARDEN

ELLEGARDEN’s presence is huge in Japanese rock.
Lead guitarist Ubukata’s technique has influenced many guitarists in Japan.
You can really feel the quality of his guitar solos in ELLEGARDEN’s songs, and I especially recommend the solo in “Niji” (“Rainbow”).
Ubukata’s full picking and string bending are the very essence of emo.
In this track too, the solo starts with powerful full picking and wraps up with a tasteful bend—absolutely incredible.
It’s hard to put into words, so definitely experience its brilliance through this song.
