Recommended Disney movies full of dreams and magic (1–10)
Frozen
Released in 2013, this hugely popular film won the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
It’s also notable for featuring two heroines: the princess sisters Elsa and Anna.
In particular, Elsa’s story—overcoming her trauma after isolating herself in the castle due to fear of her own magical powers—resonated with modern audiences and sparked explosive popularity.
Songs from the film, such as “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, also became hits and drew attention when the TV show “Itte Q: Sekai no Hatte Made” paid homage to them.

101 Dalmatians
The work 101 Dalmatians, featuring Dalmatian dogs with white coats and black spots, was first released in Japan in 1962, followed by the live-action 101 in 1997 and its sequel 102 in 2001.
The story depicts Pongo and Perdita, the parent dogs, setting out to rescue Dalmatian puppies kidnapped by the villain Cruella, who is after their fur.

Cars
An animated film released in 2006 set in a world where cars live like humans.
It depicts the personal growth of Lightning McQueen, a genius racer who was arrogant and intoxicated by his own talent, through the friends he meets.
On his adventure, he encounters cars from places and with values different from his own world, and McQueen—who once cared only about the honor of winning races—gradually deepens his bonds with his companions.
The intense racing scenes are another highlight! The high-stakes races, roaring with powerful engine sounds, will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Snow White
Snow White, Disney’s first animated feature film, was first released in the United States in 1937.
This work, which also became the world’s first feature-length color animated film, was produced based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
The world’s most beautiful Snow White has her life targeted by her stepmother, who wants to be the most beautiful of all.
Though she escapes and lives happily with the seven dwarfs, the stepmother tries to take her life again with a poisoned apple.

Moana and the Legend of the Sea
Moana, a girl chosen by the ocean, is the heroine of Moana.
It was released in the United States in 2016 and in Japan in 2017.
The story follows Moana as she sets out on an adventure across the vast ocean to return the Heart of Te Fiti entrusted to her by her grandmother.
Along the way, she clashes with the demigod Maui, who becomes her traveling companion, but grows through their journey and rows forth to save her island.
The main theme, How Far I’ll Go—sung by Moana herself in the film—has an expansive feel that captures the very world of the sea portrayed in the movie.

Pirates of the Caribbean
When it comes to Disney’s blockbuster pirate movies, it has to be Pirates of the Caribbean! The first film, The Curse of the Black Pearl, was released in 2003, followed by the sequels Dead Man’s Chest, At World’s End, On Stranger Tides, and Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The series is based on the Disney theme park attraction Pirates of the Caribbean, so if you’re a Disney fan, you might have recognized the vibe even if you went in knowing nothing.
You can’t take your eyes off the screen—from Jack Sparrow, who seems sloppy but is actually brilliant, to the heart-pounding twists unique to pirate films.
