Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and OutDutch Swing College Band
Formed in 1945, the Dutch Swing College Band is a jazz band from the Netherlands.
At a time when Dixieland jazz was strongly associated with New Orleans in the United States, they made a big impact as a Dutch jazz band.
While they were active mainly in Europe, their outstanding musicality gradually earned them international popularity.
Their rendition of “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out” is one of their signature works.
Sensation RagOriginal Dixieland Jazz Band
The Dixieland Jazz Band was a white jazz band from New Orleans, USA, that began performing in 1916.
They originally worked under the name Stein’s Dixieland Jazz Band, but as the lineup changed, they adopted the name Original Dixieland Jazz Band.
They were one of the first bands in jazz history to achieve commercial success and are also known as the first band to release a jazz record.
