The Tailor of Enbi Hillmothy

This is a highly narrative-driven work that combines a Japanese-style sound with a mad, distorted worldview.
The song is by mothy, also known as Akuno-P, and was released in 2009.
It is one of the Seven Deadly Sins series alongside pieces like “Conchita, the Epicurean Daughter,” and was created with the theme of “envy.” The protagonist, a tailor, becomes jealous when he sees the person he loves walking with a woman who isn’t him… Written like this, it might seem like the theme is “infidelity.” But those who’ve listened know that’s not it, don’t you?
Electric AngelYasuo P

Electric Angel is a beloved signature song by Yasuo-P, who has been active since the early Vocaloid scene.
Released in 2007, the track has inspired countless covers and rearrangements by singers.
Riding on a fast-paced dance beat, Hatsune Miku’s supple, beautiful vocals resound.
The richly unfolding electro sound and her mechanical voice together create a unique world.
It’s a heartwarming number that stirs the chest with Miku’s cute portrayal of wavering emotions.

Love-struck VOC@LOIDOSTER project

Koi Suru VOC@LOID, produced by the music unit OSTER project in 2007.
It was posted two weeks after Hatsune Miku’s release and drew attention as a catalyst for the Vocaloid boom.
A danceable sound unfolds, leveraging dazzling synth timbres and a throbbing bassline.
The lyrics, written from Hatsune Miku’s honest feelings toward her creator, evoke her cute presence.
Despite her mechanical singing voice, she also shows a human side—this Vocaloid track is packed with her unique charm.
celluloidbaker

Baker is a Vocaloid producer who creates a wide range of songs from pop to ballads.
His 2007 track “celluloid” drew attention as a standout piece in the early Vocaloid scene.
It portrays someone who, upon recalling the happy days spent with a loved one, can’t help but feel a pang of sorrow.
The emotional band arrangement featuring beautiful piano tones pairs perfectly with Hatsune Miku’s pure voice.
This early-era Vocaloid song depicts the brave resolve to live positively, even during days when it’s hard to accept sadness and heartache.
Wanderlustsasakure.UK

This song is by sasakure.UK, one of the leading Vocaloid producers who has continued to be active at the forefront of the Vocaloid scene and has also worked on pieces like “Tondemo Wonders” and “Future Eve.” It was released in February 2009.
The work is characterized by its unpredictable song structure and avant-garde sound that incorporates chiptune.
Even back then, it already had that distinct “sasakure.UK sound,” which is great.
Even now, long after its release, it still feels “new.” A remake version was uploaded in 2019, so if you haven’t heard it yet, definitely check it out!
Dawn glow, your song.Hoehoe P

Hoehoe-P, a Vocaloid producer known for signature songs like “Hello/How Are You,” created “Asayake, Kimi no Uta” in 2009—a rock number that gained popularity in the early Vocaloid scene.
It portrays moments when feelings overflow for someone special, singing of a bittersweet longing that warms the heart.
The passionate band performance driven by a four-on-the-floor beat conveys raw emotion, and together with lyrics that evoke vivid scenes, Hatsune Miku’s vocals gently resonate as a moving Vocaloid track.
Dreaming Little BirdHayaya P

“Hayaya-P,” who delivers songs that match illustrations drawn with his unique touch, created “Yumemiru Kotori” in 2008.
It features overlapping choral work by Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin, and the song matches a sound imbued with a distinctly Japanese atmosphere.
The lyrics are filled with charm, evoking nostalgic scenes and conveying the beauty of the Japanese language.
It’s a Vocaloid track where their girlish voices resonate alongside a somewhat wistful, beautiful melody.
Please lend an ear to the gently heart-warming lyrics and melody.
