Tonight’s ChristmasKawasaki Takaya

Taka-ya Kawasaki - Tonight's Christmas [OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO]
Tonight's ChristmasKawasaki Takaya

It’s a warm song that makes you want to express your feelings on Christmas night.

Takaya Kawasaki, whose husky voice leaves a strong impression, gently sings about the special atmosphere of Christmas.

It’s filled with the desire to convey feelings that are usually too embarrassing to say, precisely because it’s this day, and its lyrics, which resonate closely with listeners’ hearts, are especially appealing.

Released in November 2020, this track is a true-to-life love ballad wrapped in an acoustic sound.

If you’re singing it at karaoke, Christmas night spent with someone special is perfect.

While there are some technically challenging parts—like the open, natural vibrato and falsetto in the chorus—the melody itself is very straightforward and should make pitching easy.

Try singing as if savoring the lyrics, pouring your feelings into every word!

silentSEKAI NO OWARI

It’s a perfect number for karaoke during the Christmas season.

It’s a song by SEKAI NO OWARI, one of Japan’s leading bands, released in October 2020.

It drew attention for being chosen as the theme song for the drama “Kono Koi Atatamemasu ka.” The shimmering sound featuring sleigh bells is soothing.

However, the lyrics depict spending Christmas Eve alone while thinking of someone precious, which is heart-wrenching.

The song appeared on various charts, including Billboard Japan Hot 100.

It’s perfect for creating a calm atmosphere at karaoke.

chicken riceHamada Masatoshi / Makihara Noriyuki

It’s the perfect song for a heartwarming Christmas night.

Created through a collaboration between Masatoshi Hamada and Noriyuki Makihara, it was released in November 2004.

It was also selected as the image song for Fuji TV’s winter event “HOT FANTASY ODAIBA.” Hamada’s sincere vocals layered with Makihara’s gentle chorus create a charming melody that evokes the warmth of family love.

With lyrics penned by Hitoshi Matsumoto, the song, though simple, captures familiar Christmas scenes and becomes a work that lingers in the heart and resonates with everyone.

Singing it at karaoke will surely bring smiles and deepen the bonds with those close to you.

Our Uniform Christmas=LOVE

=LOVE (Equal Love) / 2nd Single “Our Uniform Christmas” [MV full]
Our Uniform Christmas=LOVE

A perfect youthful love song for the Christmas season has arrived! Released in December 2017 as =LOVE’s second single, this track is a cute pop number that portrays the romance of a school-uniformed student couple.

Written by Rino Sashihara, the lyrics evocatively capture the special moments that come with the arrival of winter.

Combined with a bright, catchy melody, it warms the listener’s heart.

The music video—also planned by Sashihara—has earned a reputation among fans as irresistibly heart-fluttering.

The vocal range is fairly average and doesn’t require dramatic highs and lows, so why not imagine the feelings of a girl in love, sing it together with friends, and savor a sweet-and-sour page of youth?

Someday Merry ChristmasB’z

A heartwarming masterpiece of a Christmas song created by B’z! Released in December 1992 as part of the brilliant mini-album “FRIENDS,” this track was also used as an insert song in the Toho film “Koi wa Maiorita” (Love Has Fallen).

It’s likely one of the most famous Christmas songs in Japan, and many people probably find themselves moved to tears when they hear the wistful melody of the chorus.

Unlike B’z’s more upbeat rock numbers, with their soaring high notes and densely packed lyrics, this song represents the “quiet” side of their music.

Among their catalog, it also sits in a relatively average vocal range and is easier to sing, so I recommend performing it while picturing the story-like lyrics.
