This is a gentle-moving horse craft made with paper cups.
First, take one paper cup and turn it into a horse by attaching ears, a mane, and a tail made from construction paper, and drawing patterns with a pen.
For the other paper cup, create a simple mechanism using a rubber band and a battery to make it move.
By winding the rubber band to create twist and letting it spin, the horse paper cup stacked on top will start to wobble and shake.
It looks adorable, and when it moves, it’s like a little horse is running.
All the materials are easy to find, and there are no complicated steps, so you can make it with confidence.
After it’s done, you can even race them on a desk—an imaginative craft full of playful fun.
origami: horse ema (votive plaque)

Here’s an idea for making an ema (votive plaque) from a single sheet of origami paper.
The creasing step is important for this one: you’ll cut along those crease lines with scissors and keep folding from there.
The steps for folding the horse are quite detailed, so having some tools on hand might help.
Also, if you use 15 cm origami paper, the finished piece will be quite small, so we recommend using a larger sheet.
Write your wish on the white part of the ema and hang it up with a string.
Use brown-toned origami paper for this project.
In conclusion
Through the horse craft activity, we hope you were able to feel the joy of working with your hands to complete a piece.
Creating the shape of a horse using familiar materials like paper and yarn can also evoke nostalgic memories.
Spending time making things together with older adults invites conversation and gentle smiles, creating a calm and pleasant moment.
Please consider incorporating it into your daily recreational activities and enjoy a heartwarming, fulfilling time.
