Threading fluffy yarn is so much fun! Here’s a heart-shaped gift craft that’s perfect for 3-year-olds.

First, cut construction paper or cardstock into a heart shape.

If you draw a large heart, it’s a great chance to practice using scissors.

Next, punch holes along the edge of the heart with a hole punch.

Once the holes are made, thread yarn through any hole you like.

It’s done when you randomly lace colorful, thicker yarn through the holes! A radiating pattern looks cute too.

Thicker yarn is easier to thread, so prepare something your child can handle easily.

Have fun making and playing with a demon toy using toilet paper rolls! Here’s how to make it.

First, wrap a sheet of origami paper around a toilet paper roll and fold any excess paper inward.

Use a pen to draw the demon’s face.

Draw designs on the horn parts as well and glue them on.

Next, cut another toilet paper roll in half, then make a vertical slit in it.

Draw the demon’s pants pattern on a piece of origami paper and cut it in half.

Apply glue, place the paper on the slit roll, and wrap it around.

Fold any excess paper inward, then stack it onto the toilet paper roll with the demon’s face—and you’re done!

Oni mask made with decalcomania

Oni mask made with decalcomania

How about making an original ogre mask using decalcomania? First, fold a sheet of construction paper in half vertically and open it.

Place three colors of paint you like on one half of the paper, then fold it in half again.

With it folded, spread the paint by pressing and rubbing over the paper with your hands.

Open it up and let it dry, then draw the ogre’s face with crayons or pens.

Cut out the ogre face along its shape, and finally attach a mask strap made from white construction paper to finish! For an extra touch, try gluing yarn on as the ogre’s hair—it adds dimension and makes it even more fun.

Cute for winter crafts! Here’s how to make a snow wreath recommended for 3-year-olds.

Adults should help with the cutting.

First, cut out the center of a paper plate.

Make lots of small balls by rolling cotton.

Spread wood glue on the paper plate, then stick the rolled cotton around the edge.

Next, put a little paint on your finger and dab it like a stamp to add color to the cotton.

Finally, attach a string to the back of the snowman parts so it can be hung, and you’re done! It’s also adorable if the children make the snowman’s face using round stickers or crayons.

Fluffy Heart Stencil

Fluffy Heart Stencil

The heart stencil is super cute! Here’s a heart-themed craft that’s great for 3-year-olds.

First, draw a heart shape on construction paper or cardstock and cut out the inside.

After cutting it out, color the edge of the heart with conte or pastel crayons.

Place the stencil on a sheet of paper and gently rub in circles with your finger inside the opening—the heart will appear like magic.

It’s also fun to layer hearts of different sizes or combine your favorite colors, so I highly recommend trying that.

The finished stencil looks adorable just as it is on the paper, but you can also try cutting it into your favorite shapes—get creative!

Two-Color Heart You Can Make with Kids

[Origami] A Valentine’s “two-colored heart” to make together with a 3-year-old
Two-Color Heart You Can Make with Kids

Here’s a cute two-tone heart idea using double-sided origami paper! First, fold the paper in half so it becomes a rectangle.

Then overlap the left and right sides to fold it into a square, and repeat the same fold once more to crease it well.

Return the paper to the rectangular shape and place it with the creases at the bottom.

Fold the bottom-left corner up to align with the outer crease.

Open that fold into a triangle and flatten it.

If the left side of the paper looks like a house shape, you’re on the right track.

Next, lift one layer of the top-right corner and fold it down into a triangle along the bottom edge.

Once folded, fold the right edge in to meet the center line.

Lift one layer of the lower-left corner of the part you just folded and fold it into a triangle, then flip the paper over.

Fold the right edge inward to form a square again, and fold down the top edge about 5 mm all together.

Open the topmost layer of the folded-down section and squash the corner into a triangle.

Finally, fold both bottom corners in to meet the center line, and it will form a heart!

Soap-bubble art creates unique patterns.

This time, let’s use the technique to make a snowman.

First, prepare some colored bubble solution.

Just mix soap solution into white paint thinned with water.

Dip a toilet paper roll core into the bubble solution and use it as a stamp so that two circles connect.

These will be the snowman’s head and body.

Once it’s dry, draw the face, hands, and a scarf with pens or crayons to finish a cute snowman.
