We’ve focused mainly on female rappers, so you’ll also find plenty of relatable lyrics!

ROSEHANA

HANA / ROSE -Music Video-
ROSEHANA

HANA is a girls’ group produced by popular female rapper Chanmina, and each member’s story of overcoming adversity adds to their appeal.

Among their releases, this debut track is especially recommended.

While rooted in hip-hop, it blends in pop melodies that stick in your head, resulting in an incredibly catchy piece.

The song carries a powerful message of self-affirmation—blooming beautifully by turning even your scars and weaknesses into your weapon.

Released in April 2025, it also drew attention as the theme for Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s Body Mainte commercial.

If you’re facing a challenge and want to like yourself more, this is the song to play.

LANA, a female rapper who enjoys overwhelming support from young people for her husky voice and realistic lyrics, commands a striking presence in Japan’s hip-hop scene.

In this track, she features two fellow scene leaders, JP THE WAVY and Awich.

The song portrays a powerful image of a woman who tackles both work and play with energy and forges her own path through her own strength.

It opens the EP “19,” released in July 2023, and the heavy, highly addictive beat produced by ZOT on the WAVE and Homunculu$ makes it especially compelling.

It’s a track that boosts your self-esteem just by listening, making it perfect for moments when you want to lift your mood.

HEATNENE

NENE – HEAT (Official Music Video)
HEATNENE

Known as a member of the hip-hop unit Yurufuwa Gang, NENE also has a uniquely compelling presence in her solo work.

The track I’m introducing is a powerful declaration of intent: no matter the surrounding mood, she herself will be the source of heat in the room.

That overwhelming energy and confident attitude seem to ignite listeners’ hearts as well.

Released in August 2024, this piece opens her first solo album in about seven years, Gekiatsu.

The entire album is produced by Koshy—who has also worked on Yuki Chiba’s Team Tomodachi—so the sound quality is guaranteed.

It’s the perfect anthem for moments when you want to lift your spirits to start the day, or fire yourself up before an important presentation.

Remember feat. YOUNG JUJUAwich

Awich is a skilled rapper with outstanding vocal ability and a distinctive expressive style, earning strong support from dedicated heads.

Having attended an English conversation class at a U.S.

military base in her hometown of Okinawa and studied abroad, she can speak English at a near-native level.

Thanks to that background, her flow is on a level that completely surpasses most Japanese artists.

You can fully appreciate her flow and musicality in “Remember feat.

YOUNG JUJU,” a 2017 release that gained popularity with its tropical-influenced sound.

The singing parts are fairly challenging, but the rap sections aren’t too difficult—so definitely give it a try.

Rapper OZworld, known for his unique musicality inspired by his hometown Okinawa, first gained attention through the High School Rap Championship and performed under the name R’kuma at the time.

His collaboration with multi-talented entertainer Satomi Shigemori, Vivide feat.

Satomi Shigemori, uses trendy trap music while still delivering a cute vibe.

It’s not too difficult to sing, so it’s recommended even for those who aren’t used to rapping.

Just Another DayQueen Latifah

This is a track by Queen Latifah, who has released many songs infused with elements of jazz, gospel, and funk.

It’s included on her 1993 album Black Reign.

It’s a cool track, yet her vocals convey a sense of warmth.

Ride or DieLitty

Litty – Ride or Die (Prod. Lion Melo)
Ride or DieLitty

Right now, rapper Litty is rapidly gaining momentum on the female rap scene.

With catchy lyrics and a musical style that modern women can relate to, she’s been attracting growing popularity—and even more attention since the start of 2025.

Among her tracks, the one I especially recommend is “Ride or Die.” Its melodic rap leans heavily into the vocal side, and because it’s sung in a low key throughout, it’s the perfect song to bring out the allure of women with deeper voices.
