Precious thingsroodo obu mejyaa

Lord of Major’s “Taisetsu na Mono” has a simple punk rhythm that feels great.
The build-up toward the chorus is incredibly satisfying.
The crunchy guitar tone delivers a pleasant sound that brings back a sense of youthful nostalgia.
For some, just hearing the intro might bring those memories flooding back.
It’s also a great pick for karaoke—especially the chorus, which really gets everyone hyped when you sing it together! It could be a lovely song to perform for someone special during graduation season, too.
Departuretaiyozoku

Taiyouzoku’s “Tabidachi” is a song perfect for graduation season.
Its heartwarming melody and lyrics that frame farewells as steps toward a positive future are striking.
Many listeners will be moved by the portrayal of a tightly bound friendship that remains unbroken even when people are apart.
It’s a track we want everyone taking a step toward the future to hear.
A song that will resonate with men and evoke deep empathy.
Friend ShipHoshino Gen

This song delivered by Gen Hoshino is a moving piece that portrays the beauty and complexity of friendship.
Set to a gentle melody, the lyrics convey feelings for a friend far away and a wish to meet again.
Blending jazz-inspired elements with pop, the track carries a sense of nostalgia while holding quiet strength.
Included on the album “YELLOW DANCER,” released in December 2015, it was also written as the theme song for the film “Moriyamachu Driving School.” It’s satisfying to sing at karaoke while dreaming of reuniting with classmates, and equally special to listen to alone while savoring the afterglow of graduation.
Tender and a little bittersweet, this song will give you courage and hope for the new path ahead.

Far, far awayMakihara Noriyuki

When spring comes, many people leave their hometowns to pursue higher education or start new jobs, bravely diving into a new environment on their own.
The song I want those people to hear is Noriyuki Makihara’s “Tooku Tooku” (“Far, Far Away”).
It’s a track from Makihara’s third album, “Kimi wa Boku no Takaramono” (“You Are My Treasure”), released in 1992.
Although it was never released as a single, it’s one of his most popular and representative songs.
For those who have spent several years away from home, it’s a heartfelt piece that just might bring a tear to your eye.
Starting lineKaientai

When it comes to graduation songs among Kaientai’s hits, most people would point to “Okuru Kotoba,” but here I’d like to recommend “Start Line.” Why? Not just because it was used at my own graduation ceremony (haha).
I chose it because its lyrics encourage you to move forward—reminding you that every ending leads to a beginning and it isn’t only about sadness—which makes it a perfect fit for a graduation song!
Sakura ~Graduation~Shōnan no Kaze feat. MINMI

Sakura ~Graduation~ feat.
MINMI is a song whose message—“it’s okay to be your true self”—gives you a gentle push forward.
Released in 2013 by Shonan no Kaze, famous for hits like Junrenka, it’s a perfect fit for graduation scenes.
Featuring singer-songwriter MINMI, known for Are yu ready, her presence adds a great accent to the track.
The EDM-style rhythm will have you grooving naturally as you listen! With a beautiful, melodic chorus alternating with emotional rap parts, it never gets boring.
Gazing up, the sky is blueHata Motohiro

This song, which was used in SoftBank’s “Graduation” commercial, beautifully captures both the loneliness of parting and the feeling of moving toward a new beginning.
The stylish title evokes the classic graduation song Aogeba Tōtoshi that has been sung for generations.
If you sing it with feeling at karaoke, your sentiments about graduation are sure to come across to everyone.
