To the futureKiroro

Speaking of classic songs that sing of gratitude to mothers and the future, Kiroro’s “Mirai e” (“To the Future”) comes to mind.
Released in 1998 as their second single, it reached No.
4 on the Oricon Singles Chart.
It’s said that Chiharu Tamashiro, who wrote the lyrics and composed the music, wrote the song to her mother when she was in her third year of junior high school.
The lyrics, filled with a mother’s love for her child, have made it a popular BGM choice for brides reading letters to their parents at weddings.
In 2006, a remixed version, “Mirai e ~2006 MIX~,” was released as a digital-only single.

The Future Projection IIDREAMS COME TRUE

When it comes to DREAMS COME TRUE’s iconic songs that envision a future with someone special, “Mirai Yosouzu II” comes to mind.
Included on the 1989 album LOVE GOES ON…, it’s a ballad beloved by many despite not being released as a single.
It was used in commercials for Honda Odyssey and Japan Post Insurance, and in 1998 it was even included in high school music textbooks.
Its romantic lyrics, imagining a happy future with a partner, warm your heart as you listen.

The song that makes me realize how small things connect to the future is “Mirai” by Kobukuro, released in 2015.
