In Kiki’s Delivery Service, right before the protagonist Kiki sets out on her training, there’s a line her mother, Kokiri, says to console her when Kiki complains that a witch’s outfit being all black is awful.

She tells her that as long as you have the right mindset, the form—meaning appearances—doesn’t matter.

It’s a warm message: for example, even if you don’t do something perfectly, if your actions are filled with sincere care for the other person, they’ll surely be accepted.
