Perfect for making multiples too! Here’s how to make a bookmark you can slip into a book.

We’ll use sticker-type laminating sheets, so no laminator needed.

First, gather your favorite stickers and arrange them nicely on the laminate.

Once you’re happy with the layout, seal the laminate carefully to avoid trapping air, then cut it into a bookmark shape.

Punch a hole and tie a ribbon to finish! Since sharp corners can be dangerous, round off the corners of the bookmark.

Acrylic block

Acrylic block

Acrylic blocks are very popular as items for supporting your favorites, and you can actually find them at 100-yen shops too.

In this idea, you create an original acrylic block by sandwiching a printed photo between two acrylic blocks.

It’s easy—just secure the sides with removable masking tape—and you can peel it off anytime to swap out the photo effortlessly.

Using two acrylic blocks adds thickness, making it more stable and able to stand on its own, which is a nice bonus.

Be sure to try making one with a memorable photo.

When it comes to group messages, writing them on a shikishi board is the classic choice.

But because it’s so standard, many people want to make a more memorable impression.

That’s why I recommend turning the messages into playing cards.

Cut thick paper into the shape of cards, then add suits like hearts and spades, numbers, and your messages.

Gather everyone’s cards and put them together in a box—that’s it! You can also stick on photos cut into the shapes of the suits or create an original Joker, which would be lovely.

sports balloon stick

There are many different shapes of balloons that come in handy for various occasions.

In fact, there are balloons with sports themes—like baseballs, soccer balls, and basketballs.

In this idea, a baseball-shaped balloon is used to create a bouquet-style gift.

The balloon has a jersey number written on it, and a photo of the person working hard at their sport is attached above the balloon.

Wrapping it all in paper to make the whole thing look like a bat is a nice, detailed touch as well.

film keychain

@non_mama6

It got such a big response that I’m going to share how to make it 🤭💓 The body is called an “empty film canister,” and on Mercari they go for around 200–500 yen each. I really wanted to make this and kept thinking about substitutes, but nothing worked... One day, just as I was about to give up, I suddenly had an idea and called my local Kitamura Camera shop 📞 I asked, “Could I buy your empty film canisters?” And they said, “We’re just going to throw them away, so go ahead!!!!” 😳‼️ Thanks to that, I was able to use real ones and turn them into keychains 💓 However, after I posted on Instagram, some followers told me that even at Kitamura Camera, some stores say they can’t give them out because empty film canisters are treated as industrial waste and collected by recycling contractors 😭 I’m sorry if that caused anyone any disappointment 😭 ※ If you post what you made or share the instructions, please tag/mention me.#FilmCamera#CameraRollKeychainkeychain#AnniversaryPresentSurprise present

It’s an idea to turn photos full of memories with dear friends and seniors into keychains as a gift.

A transparent, sky-seethrough film keychain… the most “emo” present in the world! Insert your photos into a free film template, then print them transparently using film you can buy at a 100-yen shop.

Fix the printed film into an empty film canister and attach a keychain—done! Some camera shops will give you empty canisters, so if there’s one nearby, it’s worth asking.

You can also buy them from online shops.

shoe bag

How to make a lined zipper shoe bag (sizes suitable for children and adults)
shoe bag

If they’re in a club where they use shoes, how about giving them a handmade shoe bag? It has plenty of gusset room and a handle, so it’s easy to use.

It’s also lined and sturdy, so they’ll likely be able to use it for a long time.

This idea assumes you can use a sewing machine, but the instructions are explained carefully, so beginners can follow along and give it a try.

It takes a bit of effort, but spending time making it while thinking about the recipient’s tastes will surely be something special.

balloon bouquet

I made a balloon bouquet with items from the 100-yen shop, and it turned out even cuter than I imagined.
balloon bouquet

When you hear the word “bouquet,” most people probably think of flowers, but this one is a bouquet made with balloons.

If you go to a 100-yen shop, you’ll find balloons in all kinds of shapes and designs.

Combine them like a floral arrangement and finish by wrapping them in your favorite wrapping paper.

It’s also cute to mix in artificial flowers or incorporate small figurines.

For the stems, balloon sticks are recommended.

Since you can get all the materials at a 100-yen shop, the low cost is another big plus.
