How about filming yourselves singing a graduation song and giving it as a gift? It’s an idea that works either from current students to graduates, or from graduates to current students and teachers.

You could record it in a fixed shot like a choir performance, or edit it with split screens so everyone’s face is clearly visible.

It’s also great to film people singing in different locations and edit the clips together to make it feel like a music video.

In any format, a video filled with heartfelt singing will resonate with those who watch it.

How about a countdown movie that records the several dozen days leading up to graduation day? It might be good to start about 30 days before the ceremony.

Write “◯ days until graduation” on sketchbooks, the blackboard, and in various other places, and have different people say the exact words they wrote.

Film a short clip like that each day until graduation, then edit them all together into one video at the end.

When you look back on a video that captures the small changes in yourselves over those days, the shifting seasons, and the growing poignancy, it’s sure to bring you to tears.
