Pumpkin bag made from a milk carton

Pumpkin bag made from a milk carton

Grab your pumpkin bag and head out to collect Halloween treats! Cut off the extra parts of the milk carton that will form the base, then glue construction paper onto it, cut roughly 3 cm larger than the carton.

Fold the excess construction paper over the edges, make slits so it forms a box shape, and staple it in place.

At this point, attach a handle made by gluing construction paper onto the leftover part of the milk carton.

Finally, draw a face with pens or add stickers, and you’re done.

If you fill this bag with treats on Halloween, the kids are sure to be thrilled!

Three-dimensional Halloween pumpkins made from construction paper really stand out on nursery and kindergarten walls! You might think they’re harder than flat crafts, but once you make a template first, they’re actually easy.

Prepare several pieces of orange construction paper cut into pumpkin shapes.

Fold each one in half and attach them together—ta-da, it transforms into a 3D pumpkin! The accordion-like look is fun and sure to delight children.

Finish by adding the eyes, nose, and mouth, and your Halloween pumpkin is complete.

A jack-o’-lantern that boosts the Halloween mood with its warm glow.

Think making one by hand is difficult? You can actually craft one easily using a paper cup! Cut the rim of the paper cup and paint it orange.

Next, cut the cup into eight sections and open them out.

Use a pen or similar tool to gently curl each strip, and staple them together to form the lantern shape.

Add a mouth, eyes, and a stem for a cute finish.

If you use an LED candle light, you can enjoy it safely.

Turn off the lights and enjoy the Halloween atmosphere with your family or everyone at the preschool.

Here’s an idea for making a pumpkin lantern using a balloon, similar to papier-mâché.

Crumple up colored paper or origami paper, then flatten it and tear it by hand.

Apply liquid glue to the torn pieces and stick them onto an inflated balloon.

Once you’ve covered up to the top of the balloon, let it dry thoroughly as is.

After it’s dry, pop the balloon inside and remove it.

Neaten the opening, add a face with black construction paper, and attach a handle with craft wire (pipe cleaners) to finish! If you place a small LED light inside, it becomes a lantern—and it can also be used as a treat bag!

When it comes to Halloween, we tend to end up making a lot of horror- or gothic-themed items, don’t we? I imagine many people would also like to create something cute.

For those people, I recommend this origami ghost and pumpkin gift case.

It’s a charming design that leaves a strong impression, and you can make it with a single sheet of origami paper.

The folding is a bit complex, but it’s still at a level that children can enjoy.

In the video, the facial features are made from paper, but drawing everything with a pen is also a great option.

Paper fan pumpkin

Do you know what a paper fan is? “Fan” refers to a fan shape, right? So it’s an ornament made of paper in a fan shape.

Many people in Japan may not know it, but abroad it’s a beloved staple interior item.

You can easily try it by just attaching eyes and a mouth made from construction paper to an orange paper fan.

A single piece looks cute, but displaying several together makes an even bigger impact.

In that case, try adding some creative touches, like making ghosts with white paper fans.

There are many children who aren’t used to making things, right? Some might even try creating something for the first time thanks to Halloween.

That’s why the first thing I recommend is an origami Jack-o’-lantern.

All you do is fold paper and draw a face with a pen—just two steps.

It’s simple, but by discovering how fun those two actions can be, kids may become interested in other kinds of crafts, too.

You can stick the Jack-o’-lantern you made on the wall or turn it into a pin badge.
