Main Theme Songs of the Harry Potter Series (1–10)
Harry in WinterPatrick Doyle

This piece, included on the soundtrack released in November 2005, was created as an important theme that reflects Harry’s inner world.
In the film, it plays alongside the beautiful, snow-covered scenery of Hogwarts and gently accompanies Harry’s bittersweet, tender moment as he works up the courage to ask his crush to the dance.
Its melody captures both the crystalline chill of winter and the tumultuous emotions of adolescence so exquisitely that just listening to it makes your heart swell.
Even now, long after the film’s release, it’s a song I always want to hear when winter comes.
Hogwarts’ HymnPatrick Doyle

This piece is used in the moving final scene of the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where the magnificent Hogwarts Castle is shown.
Composed by Patrick Doyle, it is included on the soundtrack album released in November 2005.
As the story moves in a darker direction than ever before, it features a hymn-like resonance that conveys not only sorrow but also the strength to look forward.
The overlapping melodies of the rich string section are overwhelming in their ability to quietly shake the listener’s heart.
After fierce battles and farewells, it invites you to reflect on Hogwarts and immerse yourself in its evocative world.
Harry & HermioneNicholas Hooper

Speaking of the film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the bittersweet adolescent romances portrayed alongside the wizarding world’s crisis are unforgettable.
Nicholas Hooper’s Harry & Hermione is a piece that embodies the emotional core of that story.
It’s the track that plays in the iconic scene where Hermione, jealous of Ron’s girlfriend, weeps on the staircase as Harry quietly sits by her side.
Its delicate, harp-like timbre conveys unspoken pain and the warmth of friendship, tightening your chest just by listening.

Secrets of the CastleJohn Williams

At night in Hogwarts, a tense atmosphere hangs in the air as someone sneaks down an empty corridor.
It’s a track from the third film in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, composed by John Williams.
The familiar theme peeks out for a moment, while an ominous and mysterious melody leaves a strong impression.
It heightened the mood in those scenes where Harry explores the castle with the Marauder’s Map and eavesdrops on conversations.
An irresistible piece that lets you savor the thrill of adventure!
The Quidditch World CupPatrick Doyle

This piece was used in the fourth installment, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
It was composed by Patrick Doyle and plays during the scene showing the Quidditch World Cup venue.
It begins with a lively rhythm reminiscent of Irish folk music, instantly amping up the wizards’ festive mood.
But it isn’t just fun and games.
As the piece progresses, heavy percussion and a male chorus join in, introducing a rugged edge that foreshadows the ominous turn to come.
It captures the atmosphere of the wizarding world, where ecstasy and fear sit side by side, and just listening to it sets your heart racing!
The Room of RequirementNicholas Hooper

This is a track featured in the film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
It’s used in the scene where Harry and the others gather in the Room of Requirement and secretly train as Dumbledore’s Army.
It begins with a light, playful rhythm, but gradually shifts into a powerful, heroic melody that conveys the students’ growth.
At the same time, there’s a subtle sense of foreboding—very characteristic of Nicholas Hooper—which lets you feel both the story’s tension and exhilaration.
BattlefieldAlexandre Desplat

This piece of music defines the tense atmosphere as Hogwarts transforms from a school into a battlefield.
It plays in the film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” during the moment when the forces of darkness pour into the castle.
Composed by Alexandre Desplat, it’s characterized by a march-like rhythm and a weighty chorus.
It conveys the terror and scale of the battlefield, and just listening to it makes your heart rate rise.
It’s a work that lets you feel as if you’ve been thrown right into the fray of the massive clash that will decide the fate of the wizarding world.
