Helloween’s classic and popular songs

Helloween is a German power metal band known as pioneers of German melodic speed metal.

Debuting in 1984, they are a legendary band that has continued to energize Germany’s metal scene to this day.

This time, we’ve picked out some of Helloween’s greatest songs.

From classic old favorites to the latest hits, we’ve gathered a wide selection—must-see for fans!

And because Helloween has many catchy songs, they’re also a great recommendation for those just starting to listen to metal!

Helloween’s Greatest and Most Popular Songs (11–20)

Number OneHelloween

The fifth single, also included on the album Pink Bubbles Go Ape, which features many poppier and more unique tracks than the band’s trademark melodic speed metal numbers.

Written by Michael Weikath, who has crafted songs that have become synonymous with Helloween, this track presents a completely different image for the band with its simple guitar riffs and arrangements.

However, the poppy, catchy melodies are still very much intact, so Helloween fans should find it naturally appealing.

Because it differs from typical “metal sound” tracks, it’s an easy listen even for those new to Western music or metal.

Forever And OneHelloween

Forever And OneHelloween

The 15th single included on the album “The Time of the Oath,” which marks a return to roots with a collection of songs featuring twin lead guitars.

It’s a relaxed shuffle-beat ballad sung by vocalist Andi Deris, and while it stands out amid the album’s many intense tracks, its beautifully lyrical melody is exceptional.

It also drew attention during the “Pumpkins United Tour,” a world tour held after former vocalist Michael Kiske returned, where the two performed it together.

It’s a gem of a ballad whose high-quality melody shines whether sung by either of the two vocalists, each with their own distinct style.

RevelationHelloween

A track featured on the album “Better Than Raw,” which puts a strong emphasis on power through elements like down-tuned guitar riffs.

Composed by drummer Uli Kusch, it opens with a classical atmosphere featuring twin lead guitars, then develops into a structure that unfolds with tightly locked unison licks so intricate you can’t catch them on a single listen—an approach that really reflects a drummer’s sensibilities.

While the song is characterized by a serious overall theme and rapidly shifting beats, you can of course enjoy the melodious arrangements that are quintessentially Helloween.

It’s a track that could be called a new frontier for Helloween: impactful yet accessible.

Sole SurvivorHelloween

The 12th single included on the album Master of the Rings, released in 1994 and a major hit that reached No.

6 on the charts in Japan.

Featuring drum work so technically astounding it could stand on its own, catchy guitar riffs layered on top, and a distinctive, wistful vocal tone, this track showcases the album’s new members—vocalist Andi Deris and drummer Uli Kusch—while still retaining that unmistakable Helloween feel.

The arrangement, which carries a different atmosphere from earlier Helloween, went on to become a defining part of the band’s sound.

It’s a melodious number that balances a heavy arrangement with an energetic lightness.

PushHelloween

The song kicks off with an eye-opening, powerful drum phrase and opens with an intense shout.

It’s included on the 8th album, Better Than Raw, released in 1998.

It’s a heavy track that seems to challenge the then-popular loud rock movement.

Mr. TortureHelloween

Mr. TortureHelloween

This is the 19th single, whose color strongly reflects guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch, and which was also included on the album The Dark Ride—the final work for both of them during their tenure in Helloween.

With its distinctive intro, a unison riff that leaves a powerful impact, and a catchy chorus that makes you want to sing along live, it’s a track that preserves Helloween’s essence while signaling new ground.

From complex rhythms to blisteringly technical shred passages, the arrangement hits squarely in the sweet spot for fans of metal numbers.

It’s a groundbreaking metal tune that symbolizes an album considered an outlier in Helloween’s history.

A Little Is A Little Too MuchHelloween

A playful, exhilarating rock number delivered by the elder statesmen of power metal.

Written by vocalist Andi Deris, the song offers a lesson—“even a touch of excess can lead to unexpected consequences”—wrapped in bittersweet humor.

Its lively sound, reminiscent of ’80s hard rock, is paired with melodies that carry Helloween’s signature blend of wistfulness and pop sensibility, guaranteed to stick in your head after a single listen.

The call-and-response vocals by Deris and Michael Kiske form a superb ensemble that further elevates the track’s appeal.

Included on the album “Giants & Monsters,” slated for release in August 2025.

With a catchy chorus tailor-made for mass sing-alongs at shows, this is the perfect number when you’re in the mood for a refreshing lift.
