Arashi’s sakura song was also popular, wasn’t it? It was used in the drama “Ouroboros: This Love Is, Indeed, Justice.” It’s also included on Arashi’s album “Japonism.” The melody, which fully expresses the beauty of Japan, is part of its appeal.

Another sakura-themed song by Arashi, “Sakura Sake,” is also a popular track.

Halloween NightAKB48

You could say it was the most hyped AKB song of 2015.

That was also the year Halloween parties became mainstream, and you’d hear this track all over town alongside the costumes.

A disco tune centered by Rino Sashihara—affectionately known as “Sasshi”—who clinched the crown at the AKB48 41st Single Senbatsu General Election!

REDB’z

Even the ever-popular B’z have dropped a new song—on a whole different level, really.

It’s a rare track written specifically as the entrance theme for pitcher Hiroki Kuroda when he returned to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in 2015.

So RED was Hiroshima’s color, huh? Those powerful vocals give me chills!

In the same year, Masaharu Fukuyama announced his marriage to actress Kazue Fukiishi, sending women across the nation into “Fukuyama loss.” This song was packed with his full-on coolness.

It was also a year full of buzz, including hosting a live show exclusively for teenagers.

Be My Baby on the LipsAKB48

This was Minami Takahashi’s final single before her graduation.

It’s a pop tune that brings out her charm to the fullest, and she even returned to the center position for the first time since her indie debut single.

The coupling track includes 365 Nichi no Kamihikouki, the theme song for an NHK morning drama.

Shut up!HKT48 feat. Kishidan

In 2015, HKT48, part of the 48 Group, collaborated with Kishidan.

The music video features a yankee style with school uniforms and tokkōfuku, presented in a story-driven format that you won’t want to miss.

The center position is held by Haruka Kodama.

If you dream, you might get hurtKinKi Kids

This is also a song by the ever-popular Johnny’s duo, KinKi Kids.

In a world where encouraging others can be difficult, they released a support song that isn’t exactly cheerful, but still gives you a gentle push.

With lyrics by Yasushi Akimoto and music by Hiromasa Ijichi, it became a single by this star-studded duo.

Kis-My-Ft2’s digital rock.

Fujigaya’s sexiness really stands out.

It’s a song packed to the max with Kis-My’s signature style, and I bet it made girls everywhere swoon.

It’s a super catchy tune that you can’t take your eyes off, especially their dance performance!

KAGUYANEWS

This is a song by NEWS, created during the period when they were a four-member group.

They took on the challenge of a Japanese-style arrangement inspired by The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

The music video was directed by Mika Ninagawa, who brilliantly brought that world to life.

NEWS members also expanded their individual activities, and 2016 was a year of major success for them, including being chosen as personalities for the 24-Hour TV program.

Dorian BoyNMB48

A slightly unusual summer song from NMB48.

They performed it a lot on music shows.

The music video really conveys the charm of center Rinacchi (Ririka Sutou).

And of course, the customary chorus dance in swimsuits is stunning! 2015 was also a year when Sayaka Yamamoto’s popularity particularly stood out.
