NEXZ NOWNEXZ
This is a must-watch variety show for fans of NEXZ, a Japanese boy group that just debuted in May 2024! All seven members are still in their teens as of 2024, giving them a fresh appeal, and as artists under the major Korean company JYP Entertainment, their future growth is highly anticipated.
Their own reality show, NEXZ NOW, is currently streaming on Hulu.
From on-location visits to trending spots and food-report segments to quiz games, it’s packed with content fans will love.
If you’ve recently become interested in the group, be sure to check it out.
PERSONZ MODERN BOOGIE RELOAD 1988 2022PERSONZ
PERSONZ is a veteran Japanese rock band with a 40-year career, fronted by the charismatic female vocalist JILL.
Many people may remember their late-1980s hits like “Dear Friends,” but it’s also impressive how they’ve continued to push boundaries—such as releasing the DVD album “RODEO DRIVE” in 2005, a one-take recording of their performance in an empty live venue featuring entirely new songs.
Their live event “PERSONZ MODERN BOOGIE RELOAD 1988 2022” was conceived to reload their classic second album “MODERN BOOGIE,” originally released in 1988, for 2022.
It’s a tearjerker for longtime fans, and the second set even features songs from their indie days.
Whether you actually attended their shows back then or sadly couldn’t make it, enjoy watching it over and over on Hulu.
PSY PSY!PSYCHIC FEVERPSYCHIC FEVER
Formed in 2019, PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE is a seven-member dance and vocal group under LDH JAPAN that made their major debut in 2022.
With members who excel in everything from R&B-style melodic vocals to full-fledged rap—and of course dance—their first terrestrial TV flagship show, “PSY PSY! PSYCHIC FEVER,” is now available to watch on Hulu.
They also spent a year training in Thailand, and it’s interesting that this program was filmed on location in Thailand as well.
Sound! Euphonium 3Tatsuya Ishihara
Based on Ayano Takeda’s novels and produced by Kyoto Animation, the popular anime Sound! Euphonium portrays a coming-of-age story about members striving in their school concert band.
Since its first season aired in 2015, it has become a hit with various spin-offs and films.
The third season of Sound! Euphonium aired from April to June 2024, depicting the story of protagonist Kumiko Oumae—who was a freshman in season one—now serving as the club president.
You can rewatch it on Hulu, so if you missed it in real time, be sure to check it out there!
Jellyfish Can’t Swim at NightRyohei Takeshita
With its uniquely distinctive title, ‘Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai’—also known by the nickname ‘Yorukura’—is a TV anime produced by Doga Kobo.
Music and illustration are actually key themes in the series, which is a coming-of-age ensemble drama about girls in Shibuya each pursuing their own dreams.
The songs used in the show are produced by 40mP, and note that Rie Takahashi, who voices Kanon Yamanouchi—performing under the in-story unit name ‘JELEE’—provides the vocals.
Both the music and visuals are of high quality, so if you enjoy works centered on music or stories about girls’ struggles and friendships, be sure to check it out on Hulu!
