[Couples’ Songs] Love songs to listen to on Good Couple Day and anniversaries (31–40)
My Room, My Dress Shirt, and MeHiramatsu Eri

It’s a song for couples—men have “Kanpaku Sengen,” and women have this one: “Room, Dress Shirts, and Me.” The lyrics convey the wife’s deep love, and many women related to it.
The song also embodies women’s true strength, doesn’t it? I bet some men felt a chill down their spine (lol).
It’s a track I hope couples will listen to together with a smile.
Kampaku (Imperial Regent)SEAMO

This is his debut single, a remake of Masashi Sada’s 1979 song “Kanpaku Sengen.” It differs quite a bit from the original, with a reggae-style groove, yet somehow it really tugs at the heart.
Compared to the original, it feels like he’s making his ‘kanpaku declaration’ to his beloved wife with a bit more restraint (lol).
That’s what makes it an irresistibly cute song about a married couple.
The Future Projection IIDREAMS COME TRUE

Mirai Yosouzu II, a classic wedding song, is a track by DREAMS COME TRUE included on their 1989 album LOVE GOES ON….
Although it was never released as a single, it’s one of their most popular signature songs and a masterpiece that has been covered by many artists.
In 2018, it was used in a Japan Post Insurance commercial, which helped introduce it to people who weren’t around when it first came out.
Its warm lyrics, which convey the importance of the time the two have spent together, are especially appealing—be sure to give it a listen!
Laughing and falling downHanbaato Hanbaato

Humbert Humbert is a folk duo loved by a wide audience for the warm harmony they weave as a married couple and their unadorned worldview.
This song, written as the theme for NHK’s serial TV drama “Bakebake,” airing from September 2025, comes with a memorable backstory: the duo repeatedly read the memoirs of Setsu Koizumi, the model for the story, and composed the piece in one go as if becoming her.
The lyrics gently embrace both the joys and pains of life, revealing new nuances with every listen.
With plainspoken words and a familiar, comforting melody that sinks straight into the heart, it’s a folk number you’ll want to savor again and again.
Because I love you.Kinashi Noritake

This song sung by Noritake Kinashi, as the title suggests, is filled with everyday gratitude and the message “I love you.” The woman who appears in the chorus is Mr.
Kinashi’s wife.
As you read the lyrics, you’ll find bits of humor sprinkled throughout that make you chuckle here and there, and yet, listening to it, you can still feel Mr.
Kinashi’s love for his wife so strongly that it almost brings you to tears.
I think listening to this song strengthens the feelings you have for each other, don’t you?

Partneryuka

For those who want to express their love to their partner on Couple’s Day, “Partner” is highly recommended.
Released in 2022 by singer-songwriter Yuka, whose down-to-earth lyrics set in a girly world have been drawing attention, the song features a strikingly colorful melody laid over a hip-hop-inspired beat.
Her light, conversational flow is irresistibly cute.
Sing the rhythmic chorus together as a couple and have fun! It’s a perfect track for a special indoor date, and it also works great as background music for a drive or a day out.
Lamp of HappinessTamaki Kōji

Koji Tamaki’s song “Lamp of Happiness” is his 18th single, released in 2004.
While it can’t exactly be called a massive hit, it’s widely regarded as a hidden gem known to those in the know.
The lyrics were written based on words his mother said to him when he was going through a slump, and they beautifully convey the importance of family.
I highly recommend that couples whose child is feeling lost in life listen to “Lamp of Happiness” and become a guiding light for their child.
