Stick Banana Pie

Stick Banana Pies that let you enjoy the gentle sweetness of bananas and the crisp texture of puff pastry.
They’re safe and easy to make in about 15 minutes, so they’re also recommended for seniors who enjoy making sweets.
Cut thick slices of banana, brush egg yolk onto puff pastry sheets that have been quartered, then line up the banana pieces.
Bake in the oven, and once the surface turns a nice golden brown, they’re ready.
You can finish with a dusting of powdered sugar if you like.
Enjoy them warm for extra toastiness, or let them cool to highlight the banana’s sweetness.
A dessert that adds color to spring snacks while satisfying both heart and appetite.
Steamed egg bread made with hot cake mix

Here are some snack activity ideas inspired by Daikan (the coldest day of the year) on January 20 and Hotcake Day on January 25.
We’re introducing an easy “Steamed Egg Bread” that you can make in a frying pan using eggs and pancake mix.
While eggs are now available in supermarkets year-round, it seems there used to be fewer hens laying eggs in winter.
Eggs laid during the winter, when nutrition is stored up, were said to be highly nutritious.
That’s why eggs laid around Daikan came to be called “Daikan Eggs.” This recipe is simple to make, so please enjoy a fun and delicious time with older adults.

sweet potato yokan (Japanese sweet potato jelly)

Imo yokan is a simple, easy, yet very delicious treat to make.
The key is to use sweet potatoes with the skins on.
Dice them finely, soak them in water to remove bitterness, then boil.
Combine the boiled sweet potatoes with water, powdered agar, and azuki beans, heat through, pour into a mold, and let it set.
If you don’t have a mold, you can line an empty box with plastic wrap and pour it in—no problem.
