Prefecture Puzzle & Quiz

Even if you know the names of the prefectures, you might not remember their shapes! There are probably quite a few middle schoolers who feel that way.
To grasp their locations, it’s better to remember not only the names of the prefectures but also their shapes.
So how about a quiz where you fit the shapes of the prefectures together like a puzzle? Try to identify which prefecture it is and where it’s located just by looking at the shape.
Coastal prefectures might be easier to recognize, but inland ones can be a bit tricky.
Still, if you can do this, you’ll have truly mastered Japan’s prefectures—more than you did back in elementary school!
Social Media Quiz

These days, even junior high school students have smartphones and use social media.
It’s a convenient tool that lets you connect with friends and people far away, but at the same time, crimes related to social media are on the rise.
To avoid getting caught up in crime and to use social media correctly, let’s learn the right practices and potential dangers through an SNS quiz! By answering quiz questions—such as how many crimes are actually happening, what to do if you’re about to get involved in something risky, and what families should prepare together—you’ll learn how to protect yourself from the darker side of social media.
Make good use of it, and enjoy social media safely and responsibly!
Science Quiz

Science studied at a much deeper level than in elementary school.
You have to memorize everything from the names of chemicals and the names of tissues contained in plants to the names of the tools used in experiments.
To help check whether you’ve really learned them, it’s easier to present them in a quiz format.
Making it multiple-choice makes it even easier to answer and remember.

Map Symbols Quiz

This is a quiz on map symbols taught in elementary school.
It’s a familiar type of quiz for junior high students, so it’s easy to answer—but they might have forgotten some.
If the whole class solves it together while looking at map symbols that make them think, “Wait, what was that again?”, it’s sure to get everyone excited.
Proverb Guessing Quiz

A proverb-guessing quiz where you deduce which proverb is being described based on its meaning.
It’s a bit more challenging than simply being asked to state the meaning of a proverb.
However, if you thoroughly understand both the proverb itself and its meaning, your language skills will improve even more! You’ll be able to express things using proverbs, and of course it will help on future tests as well.
Keep engaging with proverbs through these casual quizzes and work toward mastering them.
Four-character idiom quiz

Four-character idioms are something that will keep coming up even as you become an adult, so it never hurts to remember them.
At the very least, you’ll want to firmly learn the ones taught at school.
With that in mind, how about turning it into a useful quiz to help you learn four-character idioms? First, you hear only the meaning, and then you guess the four-character idiom that matches that meaning.
Answering aloud is great, and it’s also recommended to write out your answer so you can confidently write the kanji as well.
One-letter four-character idiom quiz

What kind of quiz do you think a “single-character four-character-idiom quiz” is? You might imagine it’s about guessing a four-character idiom from just one revealed character, but it’s not that simple.
In this quiz, the four kanji that make up the idiom are tightly combined into what looks like a single character, and you have to guess which four-character idiom that composite character represents.
Since the composite is created by using only parts of each of the four kanji, it’s important to know the shapes and structures of the characters that form the idiom.
The difficulty is quite high, but middle schoolers—who have learned many kanji and four-character idioms over six years of elementary school and through middle school—should be able to work out the answers!
