Hoop relay

Let’s enjoy a relay using a hula hoop.
When you hear “relay,” you might think of a footrace at a school sports day, but this is a relay you do without running.
First, participants line up in a row and hold hands.
Give the person on the end a hula hoop.
When the start signal is given, pass the hula hoop along to the last person by threading your body through it while keeping your hands joined.
The trick is to cooperate with the people on both sides as you go.
If you have a large space, forming a circle and taking on the challenge is also recommended! Children around four years old should be able to enjoy it.
Hoop Musical Chairs

Let’s play using both our bodies and brains! Here’s an idea for a hula hoop musical chairs game.
Prepare about 10 small hula hoops in various colors.
As everyone hums a song with a deserted island theme, walk around the hula hoops.
When the teacher calls out “1, 2, 3,” everyone jumps into a hula hoop island.
It gets more exciting if you gradually reduce the number of hula hoops! Once everyone gets used to the game, try specifying which color hula hoop to enter, or call out items related to a color to decide which hoop to use.
Island of Hula Hoops
Work together with your teammates to reach the goal! Here’s an idea for a “Hula Hoop Islands” game.
Prepare five small hula hoops or flat markers.
Form teams of four, line up, and have the person at the front hold the hula hoops.
On the path from the start line to the goal, you may only step inside the hula hoops! When the front person runs out of hula hoops, they should call out to the person at the back.
Once they receive a hula hoop hand-to-hand from a teammate, they continue toward the goal.
It’s also fun to compete head-to-head as teams!

Hoop Tag
https://www.tiktok.com/@soramame.sensei/video/7269713021449047314Let’s play by predicting the ogre’s moves! Here’s a fun idea for a hula hoop tag game.
Prepare nine small hula hoops and an easy-to-see marker for the person who’s “it.” On the count of “1, 2, 3,” jump to move into an adjacent hula hoop! You can move the length of one hoop vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
“It” also moves on the cue, so the key is to avoid landing in the same hoop as “it.” Predict the ogre’s movements and try to escape to the end!
Hoop Music Play

Let me share some ideas for playing with music using hula hoops.
All you need is a piano and large hula hoops.
Eurhythmics nurtures children’s interest in music and their abilities by moving the body to music and playing with rhythm.
While it’s possible to do these activities without any props, why not try eurhythmics ideas that use hula hoops? By moving the hula hoops to the music or along the scale, children can enjoy the fun of expressing themselves with their bodies.
Hula hoop relay

Let’s move a hula hoop without holding it with our hands! Here’s an idea for a hula-hoop relay.
All you need is a large hula hoop.
First, hang the hula hoop on one person’s right wrist, then have them hold hands with another person.
Without grabbing the hula hoop, can you move it along to the other person’s left wrist while keeping your hands joined? Once you get used to it, try sending the hula hoop back and forth, or increase the number of participants to make the game more challenging.
It’s a fun way to enjoy cooperating with friends while following the rules.
Throwing honeycomb balls through a hoop

Great for Halloween too! Here’s an idea for a game where you make a spiderweb with a hula hoop and throw balls at it.
You’ll need a hula hoop, clear tape, black construction paper, scissors or a craft knife, and colorful balls.
Use the black construction paper to make a spiderweb and a spider.
Attach strips of clear tape across the inside of the hula hoop to create a target.
When you throw the colorful balls, it looks like they get caught in the web, which is really fun! If you don’t have a hula hoop, you can make a ring by cutting poster paper into long strips and connecting them into a loop.
