Grandfather’s ClockHirai Ken

When it comes to entrance music for the opening ceremony of the National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament, it’s often upbeat tracks that lift the spirits or ballads that capture moving moments.
However, the song chosen in 2003 had a somewhat unusual flavor.
That was “Grandfather’s Clock.” It’s a piece released by Ken Hirai the year before the tournament.
While based on the nursery rhyme of the same name, it incorporates R&B elements for a stylish finish.
It likely helped ease the players’ nerves.
