Timeless songs that go perfectly with autumn leaves. Autumn tunes ideal for beautiful scenery and drives.

During the fall foliage season, our hearts are captured by the beautiful landscapes that shine in the crisp autumn air.

Of course, the breathtaking views at famous spots are wonderful, but even the small scenes we come across in everyday life can soothe us.

Those vivid hues of red, yellow, and orange.

Spend the moment with music, and you’ll create even more wonderful memories.

In this article, we’ve picked songs that pair perfectly with autumn leaves.

There are plenty of autumn-themed songs, but surprisingly few that focus specifically on fall foliage.

So we’ve also included tunes that match a leisurely stroll, perfect drive songs for cruising down a momiji (maple) road, and some ballads as well.

We hope this helps you choose the perfect BGM for your fall foliage outings.

Departing AutumnArai Yumi

At any rate, it’s astonishing to think she wrote this song when she was barely in her twenties.

“Tabidatsu Aki” (“Autumn of Departure”), released in Yumi Matsutoya’s early period when she was active as Yumi Arai, appears on her second album, MISSLIM, which came out in 1974.

Produced by her future husband, Masataka Matsutoya, with members of Caramel Mama—Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki, and Tatsuo Hayashi—playing on the record, the album as a whole has the feel of polished, sophisticated pop.

While not flashy, the closing track “Tabidatsu Aki” could be called a hidden gem: its quietly moving effect comes from the poetically rich scene-painting and deft expressive power of the prodigious young Yuming.

As with Seiko Matsuda’s “Kaze Tachinu,” perhaps autumn truly is the season most fitting for farewells and new departures.

In conclusion

I introduced songs that match the atmosphere of autumn leaves.

Did you find any that really moved you? As expected for the fall season, there are many sentimental tracks, but I also realized there are surprisingly many songs that highlight warmth.

I hope you enjoy a lovely autumn foliage time along with maple-leaf songs and autumn tunes!
