Traveler of DreamsMatsuyama Chiharu

It’s a song that evokes the image of someone moving forward alone toward their dream, conveying a sense of loneliness.

The piano’s tone, which emphasizes the poignancy, and the powerful guitar sound resonate strikingly, and you can feel the steps toward a journey through the sound as well.

The calm vocal delivery further highlights the loneliness embedded in the lyrics, and you could say the gentle melody makes it an easy song to sing.

The spoken-like singing style and the sparseness of the lyrics effectively convey the bittersweet feeling of setting off on a journey.

Dawn is captivating from the very first bars of the prelude, and both the music and the lyrics are wonderful.

Chiharu Matsuyama went through great hardship: in his youth, his family struggled financially, and there were times when he had to sell natto to earn living expenses.

After graduating from high school, he also endured difficult periods making a living as a lighting operator for a strip show run by relatives and helping out at a small eatery.

These experiences became the origin of the masterpieces that Chiharu would later create.
