Toshiki

Toshiki Shibata (Shibata Toshiki), born in 1993.

Originally from Hyogo Prefecture.

Currently based in Manchester, UK.

Began playing guitar at the age of 14.

Inspired by the music of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, he discovered the guitar’s limitless possibilities and decided to pursue music in earnest.

In 2013, he enrolled in the Foundation program at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) in Liverpool, a comprehensive arts university whose lead patron is Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

He spent a year studying essential foundational knowledge for next-generation artists—music theory, technique, and promotion skills—and graduated.

In January 2016, he launched a YouTube channel, where he regularly posts videos on music theory for guitarists.

In October 2016, he enrolled at BIMM Institute (British and Irish Modern Music Institute), a music university founded in Manchester in the North West of England.

He is currently studying in BIMM Institute’s Professional Musicianship program, covering not only guitar technique and music theory but also studio musicianship, production skills, and business skills—broad areas that support his activities as an artist.
