Takeda Hiroki

A pastime that began with a bored middle schooler’s whistling eventually led to the world stage.

He won back-to-back titles in the Junior Division of the International Whistlers Convention in 2010 and 2011, placed second in the Adult Male Division in 2014, and took overall second place at the Masters of Musical Whistling in the United States in 2017.

He has given classical music recitals in the U.S.

and Japan, performs across a variety of genres, and leads the jazz quartet Two Cats Two Dogs, featuring whistling and vocals.

He also conducts workshops and lectures to promote whistling music.

His work has been featured widely in media both in Japan and abroad.
