Festival-loving girl
Mizuki Imae
I got totally hooked on BUMP OF CHICKEN after my best friend introduced them to me in junior high, and that’s when I woke up to music. In high school, a senior led me into the world of melodic hardcore, and I fell for it completely. Heavily influenced by the boyfriend I was dating back then, I’ve been a huge fan of 10-FEET from then until now. After graduating from my days as a hairstylist—spent staring down wigs every day—I now work staff for studios, live houses, and wedding sound, spending my days hunting for new bands. Despite being out at festivals and shows all year round, I’m still a hopeless kid who can’t even do a two-step.

Idol-loving writer
Yumi
I discovered BiS when I was in high school and have been deep in the idol rabbit hole ever since. I love rock-style idol songs! I played drums in the light music club, but I didn’t have the talent and gave up quickly... I’ve loved dancing since elementary school, and lately I’m totally into Japanese-style hip-hop. I live and breathe idols and rap!

a die-hard Beatles fan
Shinji Wada
From Osaka Prefecture. I’ve been a Beatles fan for decades. I’ve tried many hobbies, but this is the only one that has stayed with me. As a storyteller of the Beatles, I want to pass on their greatness to future generations. A blog that explains the Beatles in a way anyone can understand.

Vocal coach in Sendai
KAN
As an instructor at a major vocal school in Tokyo and an R&B-focused school in Yokohama, I have trained many students. I conduct specialized research on the structure of the throat from a scientific perspective. Using a training method completely different from conventional vocal training—which improves throat voice and makes high notes easier—I have resolved numerous concerns and have taught over 300 students in total. I am currently teaching in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. At LOOSE VOICE, we regularly offer trial lessons. I will listen to your voice and provide tailored advice. We also offer on-site lessons, so upon request, I can visit your city as well. Let me support your dreams. If you have any other questions or inquiries, please feel free to contact us.

Vocal coach
Densuke
A vocal coach based in Osaka. I’m currently training aspiring professionals. I also update a blog about vocal training, so please check it out along with this article. Recently, I’ve started doing DTM (desktop music production) and have gradually begun creating tracks. I’m uploading some practice, instrumental-style pieces to SoundCloud, so I’d be happy if you took an interest. SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/densuke_osaka

Bassist / Sound Creator
Broad Person
Bassist, sound creator, and blogger. Picked up the bass at 14 and started playing in bands. Later went on to a certain music vocational school in Osaka. After moving through several indie bands and performing nationwide, I hit a wall and reluctantly took a regular job. After that, I secretly began teaching bass on the side. I also got into DTM (desktop music production) and started writing songs on my own. Steadily continuing at my own pace.

whistler
Hiroki Takeda
A pastime that began with a bored middle schooler’s whistling eventually led to the world stage. He won back-to-back titles in the Junior Division of the International Whistlers Convention in 2010 and 2011, placed second in the Adult Male Division in 2014, and took overall second place at the Masters of Musical Whistling in the United States in 2017. He has given classical music recitals in the U.S. and Japan, performs across a variety of genres, and leads the jazz quartet Two Cats Two Dogs, featuring whistling and vocals. He also conducts workshops and lectures to promote whistling music. His work has been featured widely in media both in Japan and abroad.

DTMer
milk cocoa
Former IT engineer. I use a wind synthesizer. I make songs using Vocaloid and CeVIO, and sometimes I invite a vocalist to create songs as well. I originally was a half-baked DTM user who only made backing tracks for instrument practice, but after discovering Vocaloid and following its evolution, I fell deep into it—just a music lover. I use Vocaloid 2 Megpoid, Vocaloid 3 IA, and ONE from CeVIO Creative Studio.

lighter
Mayo
A laid-back woman born in the first year of Heisei: a metalhead, a K-pop fan, and an aspiring art collector. I love movies too. I’m actually someone who works in theater. I usually sit quietly with a blank expression, listening to music, so people don’t think I’m a metalhead. I used to spend my allowance on a special new release, go home, and enjoy time doing nothing but listening to the music with the lyric booklet in hand, but I haven’t done that lately—so these days I want to reclaim that kind of time.
