[2026] Era-defining metal masterpieces: A roundup of the latest tracks and classic favorites (31–40)

HeartworkCarcass

A signature masterpiece from the later period of Carcass, known as the ‘Butchers of Liverpool’! In their early days they made a powerful impact as pioneers of the grindcore/goregrind genre, but after guitarist Michael Amott—also of Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars—joined, they shifted toward a melodic death metal direction, reaching a pinnacle with the 1993 album Heartwork.

The fusion of aggressive death metal and melodic guitars still sounds striking today!

We Don’t Need A HeroEdguy

It’s a track by a German melodic power metal band.

The song is extremely catchy and pop-oriented, combining melodic vocals with aggressively metal-style guitar riffs.

It’s a masterpiece that deserves recognition in the melodic power metal genre.

It’s a signature song by a hugely popular Swedish melodic death metal band.

The track exemplifies their hallmark style, with the guitars carrying the main melody while the vocals unleash death growls throughout—making it a classic of melodic death metal.

Veil of ElysiumKamelot

Kamelot – Veil Of Elysium – Legendado PT-BR
Veil of ElysiumKamelot

This is a track from “Haven,” the 11th album by the American melodic power metal band Kamelot.

The band is quite well-known in the melodic metal scene and has many fans.

It’s their second album since the vocalist change, and the veteran-worthy melodies that hit the fans’ sweet spot, along with the dramatic songwriting, are still firmly in place.

For me, this is the best fast-paced track on the album, and the way they balance such high-level melodies with sheer speed is nothing short of impressive.

I highly recommend it not only to long-time fans, but to all metal fans.

This track is the title track from their debut album, released in 1985.

The album is said to be one of the most influential in the thrash metal scene.
