miwa’s classic and popular songs

Let me introduce you to songs by miwa, a singer-songwriter who enjoys overwhelming support from the younger generation.

Her clear, translucent voice is incredibly captivating.

She made her major debut in 2010, and it’s said that some of the songs included on her debut single were written when she was a first-year high school student.

Also, despite her cute appearance, the sight of her playing a Flying V on up-tempo tracks creates a striking contrast and leaves a strong impression.

Two People’s Saturdaymiwa

Two People's Saturdaymiwa

This song captures a snapshot of two people’s happy time together.

You can picture the protagonist waking up early in the morning, eagerly waiting for their partner.

The frantic rush to “not be late for our meeting time,” and calling the moments spent on the bed a “jungle,” overflow with the kind of cuteness that’s so characteristic of miwa.

It was included on the album guitarium, released in March 2012, and was also used as the theme song for Fuji TV’s Mezamashi Doyoubi.

With its pop, uplifting sound, it’s perfect for a date with someone special or a weekend morning.

It’s sure to be a hit at karaoke, too!

Shinymiwa

miwa 'Shiny' Music Video (Short Ver.)
Shinymiwa

Released in 2017 as their 22nd single, it was featured as the 2017 commercial song for Japan Coca-Cola’s Sokenbicha.

As you’d expect from a Sokenbicha commercial song, it’s a very refreshing track.

The music video also features the band members, making it a very enjoyable watch.

Smilemiwa

This song has a collaboration music video by miwa × Penelope, so you can watch it.

The visuals, which seem to reflect the lyrics, are very cute.

The lyrics themselves read almost like lines spoken by the characters, and even as a collaboration piece, the MV boasts excellent quality.

Please be sure to check it out at least once.

Little Girlmiwa

A refreshing, catchy pop tune that honestly expresses Miwa’s true-to-life feelings! Opening with the line “I’ve gotten tired of love songs these days,” this track seems to speak for a girl who feels that typical love songs just don’t cut it.

Released in June 2010 as her second single, it’s also included on the album “guitarissimo.” It drew attention as the opening theme for TBS’s music program COUNT DOWN TV in June.

Recommended for anyone who wants to cherish the everyday moments with a lover or enjoy a down-to-earth kind of romance.

The 100th Love With Youmiwa

It is included on the fifth album, SPLASH☆WORLD, released in February 2017.

It was used as the theme song for the film The 100th Love with You, co-starring Kento Sakaguchi.

The song sings of a fated connection—falling in love over and over again no matter how many times they meet—but in the end a parting comes, making it a slightly bittersweet tune.

Ring of Hope (WA)miwa

It’s the 15th single, released in 2014, written as the theme song for the “Tohoku Reconstruction Festival in Paris.” The music video is presented like a documentary.

Listening to it, especially when I’m feeling down, gives me a sense of hope.

Beyond the skymiwa

Beyond the Sky / miwa [Music Box] (Theme music for the NHK General TV program “Aim for the 2020 Olympians”)
Beyond the skymiwa

It’s a song where you can sense a slightly more mature image of miwa.

As the theme song for the NHK program “Aim for It! Olympians of 2020? The Hidden Gems of the Tokyo Olympics,” its soaring arrangement and vocals tie in with the show’s content.
