Nationwide Beach Festivals [2026] Marine Festival List

“DOHOKU DANCE FES 2026” is a new, ambitious festival that fuses the sea, dance, and music, organized by the Haboro, Hokkaido dance team LUSH☆DANCE SCHOOL. Under the theme “Revitalizing our town through dance,” it aims to revive the once-beloved but discontinued Haboro Summer Live tradition and bring renewed energy to the local community. The venue is Haboro Sunset Beach, with the event scheduled for July 2026.

The Kesennuma Kazemachi Festival is a music event held at the Roadside Station Otani Coast in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, and this year marks Vol. 7. Each time, it is presented as an event where you can enjoy a wide range of genres, including rock, pop, folk, enka, dance, and traditional performing arts. Admission is free, and the event is organized by Takahashi Music Office. It will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, starting at 9:30 a.m., and visitors are widely encouraged to attend.

STAR ISLAND is a next-generation fireworks entertainment project launched by Avex in 2017 to pass on Japan’s traditional fireworks culture to future generations. It has staged performances around the world, including in Singapore and Saudi Arabia, drawing a cumulative audience of over 15 million people. At the Odaiba Seaside Park venue, 12,000 fireworks, 800 drones, lasers, and a live ensemble are synchronized to a 90-minute script, transforming Tokyo Bay into a massive stage. Scheduled for May 2026.

The Choshi Hawaiian Festival is a celebration of hula held on a special stage at Choshi Marina Seaside Park, overlooking Byobugaura and the Pacific Ocean. Since its launch in 2013, it has drawn over 6,000 attendees each time. The venue comes alive with dazzling performances by numerous hula dancers from within and outside the prefecture, accompanied by live Hawaiian music. Under the theme “Two days when Choshi becomes Hawaii,” a Hawaiian goods market and a gourmet fair are held simultaneously. The festival will take place in May 2026.

SKY ORCHESTRA is an entertainment event where music and fireworks are perfectly synchronized, to be held in May 2026 to commemorate the 900th anniversary of Chiba’s founding and the 50th anniversary of Inage Beach. The venue is Inage Beach on the Mihama Ward shoreline. Around 20 of Japan’s top pyrotechnic companies—including winners from Omagari and Tsuchiura—will gather, with Great Sky Art directing the production. Comprising two parts, an opening live show and a main show, it offers a one-night-only program where the seaside scenery harmonizes with the music.

The Kamakura Petit Rock Festival is an outdoor live music event without electricity that has been running since 2014. Held at Yuigahama Seaside Park, attendees can enjoy up-close, unplugged performances while feeling the sea breeze. Aiming to provide a space to experience music itself up close—rather than music as branded consumption—diverse artists, both famous and unknown, perform simultaneously across multiple sites. Admission is free, making it easy for everyone from children and local residents to tourists to drop by. Scheduled for May 2026.
