Iizaka Onsen Music Storehouse “Ongura”Fukushima Prefecture, Mon 5/4–Tue 5/5

Iizaka Onsen Ongura is a music event held on the outdoor stage of the Lower Storehouse at the Former Horikiri Residence, a nationally registered tangible cultural property in Iizaka Town, Fukushima City. Set within a tourism and exchange facility developed from the estate of a prosperous farming family dating back to the Edo period, the event features a layout that lets audiences enjoy live performances up close in a space that highlights the earthen storehouse’s charm and the calm ambiance unique to a hot spring town. Hot springs and historic buildings are scattered around the venue, making it perfect to enjoy alongside a stroll through the town. It will be held during Japan’s Golden Week in May 2026.

Cosquín en JapónSat 10/10–Mon 10/12, Fukushima Prefecture

Cosquín en Japón is Japan’s largest folklore (Latin American music) festival, held in Kawamata, Fukushima Prefecture since 1975. Named in homage to the music festival in Cosquín, Argentina, the venue is filled with the rustic tones produced by Andean instruments such as the quena, charango, and bombo. In the preliminary Cosquín Parade, townspeople march in South American traditional costumes, transforming the entire town into a South American scene. It will be held over three days in October 2026.

Hirono Town Fureai Festa 2026 is a major spring event held at Futatsunuma General Park in Hirono Town, Futaba District, Fukushima Prefecture. The event is hosted by Hirono Town and co-hosted by Hirono Town Promotion Corporation, Inc. In addition to stage performances such as Japanese taiko drum groups, dance teams, and participatory live painting, there will also be a flea market and food trucks. It’s a full day of fun for the whole family, and admission is free. The event will take place in May 2026.
