Earth Day TokyoTokyo, Sat 4/18–Sun 4/19
This festival is the Tokyo edition of Earth Day, the global environmental movement that began in the United States in 1970, and has been held in Yoyogi Park since 2001. In 2026, its 25th anniversary, it will be billed as the “Spring Earth Culture Festival,” bringing together around 300 booths plus 50 student group booths at the Yoyogi Park Event Plaza and Keyaki Namiki promenade. The stage will feature Earth Day concerts and talk sessions by artists including Tokiko Kato and Haru Nemuri. Held in April, admission is free.

Kawasaki, the City of Music: Asian Exchange Music FestivalSat 4/18–Sun 4/19, Kanagawa Prefecture
This music festival began in 2005 as part of the Japan-Korea Friendship Year commemorative projects and has since been held every spring around Kawasaki Station. Making the most of Kawasaki’s unique character as a place where cultures from across Asia coexist, it features two days of folk music and dance, as well as live concerts by musicians based in Kawasaki. Visitors can get up close to music and instruments they rarely encounter, and the Asian Festa—where foods from various countries can be enjoyed—is held at the same time. The 2026 edition will take place in April.
