Wacci is a pop-rock band that has been active since the early 2010s.

Aiming to create music that gently accompanies anyone’s life, their songs deliver strong messages while giving you a supportive push.

One of their hit songs, Sora ni Waraeba (“If You Laugh at the Sky”), released in 2018, is notable for its depiction of pursuing dreams while overcoming hardships together with important people like friends and family.

If you’re struggling with something, be sure to give it a listen.

DISH// is a band fronted by Takumi Kitamura on vocals.

For their collaboration project with Nissan, “Drive Letter,” they wrote Dreamer Drivers.

It’s a fast-paced rock song with lyrics that draw parallels between life and driving.

The track also carries a message of “let’s summon our courage and move forward into the future.” It’s very much in line with DISH//’s style of creating positive songs.

When it comes to cheer songs, many are the kind that pump you up with a bang, but “Sazanka” is a gentler track that feels like someone quietly cheering by your side.

It was also used as NHK’s theme song for the Pyeongchang Olympics and Paralympics.

It’s a highly recommended song for anyone striving toward their dreams or feeling on the verge of giving up.

No.1UVERworld

This is the 17th single by UVERworld, a six-member rock band that has won a loyal following with lyrics that shake the heart and a sound that’s complex yet catchy.

Its intricate structure—shifting from a heavy shuffle beat in the first verse to a suddenly exhilarating, fast-paced beat in the chorus—evokes the twists, turns, and ups and downs of the path toward one’s dreams.

The message that “being able to say what you want to do and to voice your dreams without embarrassment is No.

1,” delivered with absolute confidence and conviction in their own path, is sure to give unparalleled courage to anyone chasing a dream.

It’s a powerful rock tune that makes you feel your convictions aren’t wrong.

While you’re chasing your goals, you’re bound to experience failure now and then.

At times like that, it might be okay to just have a good cry and reset your feelings.

“Itsudemo Yume wo” is a duet by Yukio Hashi and Sayuri Yoshinaga, released in 1962.

In 1963, a film based on the song was also released, making it a major hit.

Though the song deals with loneliness and tears, you’ll strangely feel refreshed after listening.

If you want to switch your mood, give it a try.

Pebbles of DreamsAkiyama Kiiro

A multi-artist, Kiro Akiyama produces everything himself—not only writing lyrics, composing, and arranging, but also creating videos and illustrations.

His do-it-all style has earned him popularity and strong support from listeners in their teens and twenties.

Among his many great songs, the one I especially recommend is Yume no Kozue (Dream Rubble).

The lyrics depict someone walking toward their dreams together with a loved one.

It was also used as the theme song for the film Poupelle of Chimney Town, based on the original work by Nishino Akihiro of King Kong.

Many of you are probably striving toward a goal, or have someone close to you who is.

That’s why I’d like to introduce “Dreamer.” It’s a song that Berg Goodman wrote specifically for the 2020 summer high school baseball season.

The verses have a gentle, reflective feel, expressing the passion of someone chasing a dream.

Then the chorus shifts into a powerful, rousing tone, like a baseball fight song.

Try listening with that contrast between the first half and the second half in mind.
