Fireworks made with paper cups

Beautiful delicate hues! Here’s an idea for making fireworks using paper cups.
Many of you may be thinking about creating fireworks decorations.
This is a simple, beginner-friendly idea we recommend.
You’ll need paper cups, scissors, paint, and double-sided tape.
If you’re using patterned or colored paper cups, just cut slits into the cup, attach the pieces, and you’re done.
If you’re using plain white paper cups, it’s best to color them with pens or paint first before assembling.

This time, let’s mix different colors of raffia tape to create a colorful wind chime with tassels.
What you’ll need: a jelly cup, an awl, string, small bells, large beads, and raffia tape.

Bitter Vacation – Mrs. GREEN APPLE
Let’s make a cool-looking “stained-glass-style hanging decoration.” You’ll need laminate film, a laminator, a template with your preferred design, and a pen.
First, run the laminate film through the laminator as is.
Next, place the laminate film over the template and trace the design with a black pen.
Then color in the inside of the traced areas with your favorite colors and cut away any excess.
String the pieces together to hang, and you’re done! If you prepare templates that are roughly the same size, the overall display will look well-balanced.

Creative Future (full ver.) – H1KA
How about making a “miniature yagura” that you can even use on a festival sign? A yagura is usually set up at the center of a Bon Odori venue, where people play drums and flutes on top of it.
With red-and-white curtains and strings of lanterns, it really stands out.
In this idea, decorated cardboard is used to represent the yagura, with toilet paper rolls painted in red-and-white patterns standing at the four corners.
The lanterns and drum decorations are also handmade, so please feel free to try making them.
Morning glory wall decoration
How about incorporating morning glories—the quintessential summer flower—into your summer festival decorations? Here, we’ll share an idea for making morning glories using coffee filters.
Roll a coffee filter into a loose cone and dab watered-down paint onto the tip.
Open it up and let it dry, then shape it so it looks like a morning glory and secure it with a rubber band.
Finally, decorate a bamboo screen with the blossoms along with leaves and vines made from colored construction paper.
When displayed on a wall, it will look as if real morning glories are blooming there.
Try making them in your favorite colors—blue, pink, or purple.
Goldfish wall decoration
When you think of summer festivals, goldfish often come to mind.
So let’s make a “goldfish wall decoration”! Stick strands of raffia (suzuran) tape side by side onto a strip of paper tape to create a curtain that represents water.
Make the goldfish by cutting colored construction paper and assembling the parts.
Attach the raffia tape curtain to the wall and place the goldfish wherever you like.
Add sparkly round stickers to fill in the empty spaces, and in no time you’ll have a summery wall decoration.
It’s very easy, so give it a try!
Swirl Star Ornament

Let’s make a star ornament with beautiful spirals using paper quilling.
Prepare thin paper strips measuring 1 cm by 30 cm.
Color half of each strip with a marker beforehand.
Wrap the paper around a thin stick, such as a skewer or toothpick.
Once fully wrapped, loosen it slightly, adjust the diameter to about 15 mm, and glue the end.
Pinch it from the left, right, top, and bottom to shape it into a diamond.
Make five of these parts and glue them together into a star shape to finish.
Create different colors and sizes to add layered, three-dimensional star decorations to your festival.
