This is an innovative work that fuses the impatience of romance with concepts from physics.

Through the theory of relativity, it expresses the intensity of being in love.

Filled with aching emotion, this piece is included on the 37th single “Pedestrian Bridge,” with 5th-generation member Hina Okamoto serving as center for the first time.

Because it portrays romantic feelings from a scientific perspective, it’s recommended both for people who love physics and for those who want to savor pure romantic emotion.

The song “Kotodama-hou,” included as a coupling track on the 20th single “Synchronicity.” Its lyrics center on the theme of kotodama—the idea that spoken words manifest reality—and may remind you of the earnest feelings of youthful romance.

Although the melody rises and falls sharply from the very beginning, the key is low and the range isn’t wide, making it a good choice even for those who aren’t confident in their singing.

With its poppy melody and ensemble that liven up karaoke, it’s a cute number.

This is a song that gets the crowd going perhaps more than any other, with center Erika Ikuta creating the fans’ call-and-response herself.

There’s also a special segment where the members cheer with light sticks and oshi towels, making it a rare chance to see a different side of them.

The song “Ano Kyoushitsu,” included as a coupling track on the 16th single “Sayonara no Imi,” was produced as a unit song by members Asuka Saito and Miona Hori.

Its lyrics, which look back on youthful days, evoke a nostalgic feeling.

While its distinctive and catchy qualities stand out, the fast melody that uses semitone steps can make it easy to lose pitch, so caution is needed.

With an atmosphere reminiscent of classic kayōkyoku, it’s fun to sing and is sure to get the crowd going at karaoke—a hidden gem for sure.

Recently, as the skill level of idols has risen, the number of songs that are difficult to sing has increased.

Even so, there are still idols who continue to deliver catchy music, and among them, the Sakurazaka/Nogizaka-style idol groups tend to have many easy-to-sing songs.

Of those, I’d like to recommend “Ato no Matsuri.” Unlike the usual songs from those groups, this track is sprinkled with hip-hop elements.

The vocal parts are simple, so if you keep a slightly downbeat vibe in mind, it should sound good.

Nogizaka46 is an idol group that continues to enjoy strong popularity despite frequently changing members.

Compared to K-pop idols, members of the Sakurazaka/Nogizaka-style “Sakamichi” groups tend to be weaker in individual vocal ability.

Because of that, many of their songs are arranged with simple melodies that are easy for anyone to sing—truly the pinnacle of catchiness, you might say.

Among them, Zetsubou no Ichibyou Mae is especially easy to sing.

It doesn’t use falsetto, so as long as you adjust the key, I think anyone—regardless of gender—can sing it.

Nogizaka Star Is BornNogizaka 46

A music variety show by the idol group Nogizaka46 from the Sakamichi Series.

It first aired in 2021 featuring 4th-generation members.

Since the 5th generation took over, as of January 2025 the series has continued as “Shin Nogizaka Star Tanjō!” and “Chō Nogizaka Star Tanjō!” In this show, the members take on a wide range of hit songs, from Shōwa-era kayōkyoku to beloved tracks from the Heisei period.

One of the highlights for fans is getting to really listen to each member’s individual singing voice.

Some installments even include comedy sketches.

The banter with comedian MCs like Pekopa and Oswald is also fun, and each episode is relatively short, making it easy to enjoy.
