M2M is a female pop duo from Lørenskog, Norway (east of Oslo).

The two members, Marion Raven and Marit Larsen, have been friends since they were five.

At eight, they formed a band called Hubba Bubba; at twelve, they released an album as Marion & Marit, and Synger Kjente Barnesanger was nominated for a Spellemann Award.

They later renamed themselves M2M, signed with Atlantic Records in 1998, and made their major debut in 1999 with the single “Don’t Say You Love Me.” Their first album, Shades of Purple, released in 2000, was well received and became a hit, but their second album was not a commercial success, and they disbanded.

Since 2005 and 2006 respectively, they have each been active as solo artists.

Highasakite is a five-member indie pop-rock band from Norway.

They released their debut album, All That Floats Will Rain, in 2012 and made their international debut in 2013 with the EP In and Out of Weeks.

They were nominated for Best New Artist at the Norwegian Grammy Awards, released their worldwide debut album Silent Treatment in 2014, and also performed in Japan at Hostess Club Weekender.

In 2016, they released Camp Echo and appeared at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

Since Last Wednesday is a track from the Silent Treatment album, and its music video is distinctive.

Nico & Vinz is a pop duo from Oslo, Norway.

They originally performed under the name Envy, won the Emergenza Music Festival—one of the world’s largest amateur band contests—in 2010, and debuted in 2011 with the song “One Song.” Their 2013 single “Am I Wrong” topped the charts in the Nordic countries, they performed at the Nobel Prize ceremony in Oslo, signed a major deal with Warner Bros., and released the single in the U.S.

in spring 2014, where it became a major hit, reaching as high as No.

4 despite their being previously unknown there.

As Norwegian artists of African descent, they draw on diverse musical backgrounds to craft a unique sound often described as a new-era “nature sound.”

Cashmere Cat is a trackmaker and male DJ from Halden, Norway, born in 1987.

He rose to fame with the release of Mirror Maru in 2012, and before becoming a trackmaker, he was also active as a hip-hop DJ.

He performed in Japan at Summer Sonic in 2016 and released his debut album in April 2017.

Shining is a five-piece band from Oslo, Norway.

Founded in Oslo in 1999 by former Jaga Jazzist member, saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Jørgen Munkeby as an acoustic jazz quartet, the group began its activities that year.

Between 2001 and 2013, they released seven albums.

While they span genres such as avant-garde metal, progressive rock, experimental rock, free jazz, and jazz fusion, their music leans more toward rock and metal elements rather than traditional jazz fusion, resulting in a heavier sound.

Last Day is a track from the 2015 album International Blackjazz Society.

Its music video features a performance on Trolltunga (“the Troll’s Tongue”), a rock ledge jutting horizontally from a mountain cliff over a dam lake in Norway, showcasing the country’s natural scenery.

Jerry Folk is a young producer from Oslo, Norway (currently 21 years old) who is now based in LA.

He started playing drums around the age of 9 or 10, performed in a band with friends, discovered Fruity Loops at 15 through a friend, learned how to create sounds like deadmau5’s on YouTube, and began producing music.

“To My Soul” is a track from The Kids Tape, released in 2016, and features an organic, transparent, and electric Nordic sound.

Serena Maneesh is a neo-shoegaze rock band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1999.

They debuted in 2005 on a local indie label, and Selena Maneesh became a hit through online media.

The group comprises six members centered around Emil Nikolaisen, along with his siblings and friends.

Their sound has been compared to Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, and My Bloody Valentine; after moving to 4AD, they also incorporated influences from gothic rock.

Their debut album is noted for its distinctive musicality, often described as a rock ’n’ roll symphony.
